Jeremy MacDonald, macgregor.

I would kinda like to hear from as many of these as possible one way or the other.
Ratbag55 would like to playtest and be added to the DB if possible.

Thanks
You and kutaycosar are added to the list.

Edit: And Telumar makes it 6

Note that the needs will be diverse: Not just PBEM, but play against the PO, play with either updated or non-updated scenarios, and designers to make upgrades. Plenty of slots to fit into.

I don't think it will be a problem. Both versions must be made to work. I have both installations and use the Steam version the most. But, if there is some problem then that is something the beta test was intended to find out. Then I'll have to fix it.

Believe it or not, sometimes the people with the least experience make good testers. Just so they know the basics. They ask a lot of questions and those questions sometimes uncovers errors.

Agreed. But we need veterans too. A mixture would be nice. :D

We need testers of all sorts, so, sure. I don't see the beta test interferring with PBEM games in-progress, though.

So if the game version changes I should be ok to play?

OK, I've finished updating my Next War 1979 scenario. Took 22 days, so more of a task than I expected. Needed lots of research on the two Hierarchies and commander lists. I even enlisted chatGPT for help on commanders: A total bust! Nothing chatGPT provided was correct. But, I persisted and found an excellent Soviet source. Other WP and NATO were hit and miss.

Note from the attached, I've added another "new" scenario to my plans. It will be an alternate to my Gettysburg 1863 scenario that will make it a "Guns of the South" variant. Some of you may have read "Guns of the South" and know it was set in 1864, with The Wilderness being the first battle (see the attached link). But I don't have a Wilderness battle ready, so I'll just assume the South gets the time-travel assistance in 1863 instead. As per that novel, the South will get all its small arms replaced with AK-47s. Stay tuned! (Probably only of interest to Southerners. :D )

Here are the NATO and Warsaw Pact hierarchies. Note that I had to add multiple higher HQs for this, and place them on the map (often using off-map distance hexes). Note that William Norman Hall Scotter commanded both the Northern Army Group and the British Army of the Rhine. And Frederick James Kroesen Jr. commanded both the Central Army Group and the USAREUR. Also, Peter David George Terry commanded both the 2nd Tactical Air Force and the RAF. Finally, Walter Daniel Druen Jr. commanded both the 4th Tactical Air Force and the US 17th Air Force. This isn't the first scenario where I've encounted this. I wish there were an easy way to let commanders have dual commands, but it's too hard to include in this update.

And here are the NATO and Warsaw Pact Commanders. 119 total with only 1 NATO and 11 Warsaw Pact in the canned list:

Here are the NATO and Warsaw Pact Alternate Forces. Again, like for France 1944, I made color changes to effect proficiency categories, then covered it up with a color mod:
