Gun Reinforcements

Post by StuccoFresco »

One thing I'm not getting: supply-wise, reinforcements only consider Manpower and Vehicles, but not guns. However, many units are entirely made of Guns; how are those losses and therefore reinforcements counted?

If a unit loses half its Guns, will it show up as a Manpower reinforcement need or a Vehicle one?

Why is there not a separate reinforcement count for guns?

Hi,

The type of replacements (not "reinforcements" as reinforcements are new units that enter) needed is based on the type of HQ, so non motorized require more personnel than equipment, and armoured require more equipment.

Artillery HQs need 2 equipment for each 1 personnel (the actual amount depends on stacking size of all units commanded by that HQ).

I know this is a bit abstracted, but it's always a toss up between adding things like replacements and not making it overly complicated).

Cheers,
Brian

It's hard for me to understand.

I tested it, the gun unit is being supplied! But when I moved the Art 340ID, there was another unit underneath it. A ghost unit! When I saved it and reopened the file, it was gone! Is that a bug?

Hi, yes, that is a bug. Do you have a auto save file from the previous turn (BEFORE the film was made)?

No, sorry, no. I only saved it afterwards. I'll try again.

I tested it again in H2H! This only concerns the German and Russian artillery. I played it using autosave. Is that sufficient for you? Please tell me what game file, map, or OOB you need. What email address should I use? From turn 6 to 14, I can tell something's wrong. Turns 10 to 12 are interesting. Thank you for your help.

Ah it's generic "heavy equipment" then. I'd change the icon to a more generalist one for clarity, then.
