For Windows 11 users, you should search for "Windows Media Player Legacy", not the one named "Windows Media Player" in the Microsoft Store.
I had the same issue and finally figured it out and resolved it today.
We have replaced the dependency on WMP with a revised system based on NAudio. This should fix the problem, and this change is included on the next update release.
