Have you taken a look at our WWI campaigns that cover the 1914 battles in the west?
We have 1914 March on Paris and now, with the release of our Battles for Ypres DLC, First Ypres.
Yes, they are good, but the scale is "large operationnel", not really tactical scale
Example : 1914 March on Paris => ok, it's a operationnel level scale, more detailled than complete war, and it's interessant. But what I would to have is a real tactic level scale (Regiment, Batalion or company), to be able to reconstitute more
detailled local battles from Ancient times to August-Sept 1914, like the old and venerable Age of Rifles (SSI).
With this kind or real tactic scale, the "Strategic Command system engine" (under the name "Tactic Command") would be a fantastic tool to create detailled battles, without any limitations : there are perhaps approximativly two hundred campaigns in the world war history (from Ancient times to August 1914), but there are thousands and thousands of battles in war history for the same periode.
For example : "March to Paris" does reconstitute the campaign of North France, ok : it's interessant. But a "Tactic Command" engine system (Strategic Command system engine adapted for tactical scale) would be more interessant, because it would allow to reconstitute detailled battles of this campaign (and same for 1870 war, American civil war, etc).
Adaptation of the system would be easy in my opinion, I did it in modding work and I tested that : No any problem of supply for this tactical scale (or low incidence of supply), and the engine would just have to take in mind
orientation of units and
formations of units, and in addition to take in mind line of fire (no fire through mounts and forests except for indirect fire arty).
The actual engine + actual AI is perfect for medium/little maps (50 x 50 to 125 x125), and the number of historical battles has no any limits : it would be a fantastic opportunity for this "Tactic command" serie, the modding/design community would have work for an entire century

Actually, in modding with the powerfull editor and the easy graph system (png format), I can do some works to adapt the system to change it in "tactic command battle" (as I did for Ancient battles, Napoleonic battles and Civil war battles systems, and as I will do for 1870 and 1914 battles). But the modding work I can do is limited because at this time, the system of SC does not take in mind orientation of units, formations of units and lines of fire for units that are not indirect fire arty.
In my opinion, to adapt the actual SC engine to tactic scale (regiment, batalion, company) would not take lot of programing work : You could keep it in actual situation, and just do that for adaptation, 4 modifications would be largely suffisant :
1/ Possibility to turn off/on the supply effects in game
2/ Possibility to re-orientate units (by rigth clic) and to take in mind the effects of the orientation of attacks (flank attacks, rear attacks, etc)
3/ Possibility to change formations of units (line, columns, square, etc) ; and evidently, to give special effects for each formation : column = better move but low fighting ; line = better fighting bu low move, etc)
4/ Possibility to turn off/on a system of lines of fire (forests, villages/cities and Mounts would block the lines of fire, depending if lines of fire system is actived/Unactived)
And that's all : no any other change in the SC system and in the AI would be needed : at this time, in battles I play with my tactic battle system (made in modding), AI is a very interessant and funny opponent because maps or battles are medium to little (50 x 50 to 125x125)
The problem of strategic level and operationnal level is that, after some times, you play again and again the same situations. These large scale level are interessant, but it would be also very interessant to be able to create an infinite quantity of detailled battles with the same system engine.
In terms of commercial politic, I think this new adaptation would be interessant, because the SC engine is more adapted than Field of Glory to reconstitute large battles (and the powerfull editor of SC would be heavy efficient if adapted (points 1° to 4°/ above) to tactical scale.

I don't foresee any battles 15,16 or 17th century. Market is clear and it is too early period. Field of Glory 2 medieval has battles against Mongols but not possible in Field of Glory Kingdoms in campaging structure. It needs Polish or Chinese developers to refine. Some of conflicts you mention is in Concert Of Europe DLC. Although I think Ottomans are OP in 1877-78 battle according to my pbem experience.
I think that a "
Tactic Command" serie, in addition of the "
Strategic Command" serie, with exactly same engine but adapted in some details (cf above explanations) for tactical scale, would highly interest the "SC community", players and modders. In the past, I tried to mod Field of Glory (Opus I), to create a "Napoleonic mod", but Strategic Command engine-system is highly more powerfull and more easy to mod.
This new serie "Tactic Command", created by Hubert with the "Strategic Command" engine, is my great dream…
The actual SC War in Europe engine would be absolutly perfect for this tactic adaptation, Hubert is so talentuous that he would not have difficulty to adapt the system for the 4 points I explained above (orientation units, formations of units, supply turned "on/off" and lines of fire for no indirect fire units)
