Dead..? :?

Certainly not ! 8-)

I am working on a special map tool (in editor) that will allow to all modders and campaigns designers to easely rebirth SC1 if they want, with full modern and recent functions of SC3, on a 75 x 75 map with special graphs adapted tiles.

The map will be also inspired by that sort of little thing, if you know what it is... :P

Once we've revived SC1, we'll try to sell it to Hubert...

Ok, ok..., I know  : Coasts are a little bit "old school". But it's SC1, not SC3

Don't take in mind units and capitals, I placed them only to be able to register the map in workUsed graphs for cities, forests, mounts, etc will be graphs I used for my SC 3r mod in the past

Unfortunatly, the dream to rebirth SC1 will dead... :|

For one reason I just discovered, I did not see that before to begin :

Because of complicated system for painting coastal tiles in SC3 (not adapted for a little map in scale SC1), I planed to use only non-coastal tiles, after a graphic conversion of these tiles to create false coasts.

But the problem is that : In SC3, coastal tiles of vanilla game do not accept ground units ; and non-coastal tiles do not accept "naval transport" + do not accept ports.

If I use non-coastal tiles cases, naval transport will be impossible (and naval invasions, etc)
If I use coastal tiles cases, these tiles will not accept ground troops

So, it's absolutly impossible to adapt SC3 to the SC1 scale, without to recreate entire set of coastal tiles graphs (because coastal tiles cases of SC3 are not adapted for SC1 scale) : an enormous work and I can not do that.

I had prepard a europe map for nothing. Too bad...

If I had needed knowledges to build a map editor for SC1, I would do it, but I have not... SC3 is a great game and I love it, but it's now a more longer et bigger game, SC1 had this advantage to allow to play entire WW2 Iin one day and it was very fun. I would like to have the 2 games with map editor for each... I did never understand why Hubert did not create a map editor for SC1 in the past (2002 years)
