Pilots Exp and Arrival Number

Post by Xargun »

I seem to recall that if you change the number of pilots arriving or their EXP it affects them 12 months later.. So if you modify the 1942 numbers, they actually starting arriving with the new numbers in 1943. Is this true? Or am I misremembering?

Good question - I think it will probably change right away... ( but not the starting pool), but I haven't tested it. For certain, I would have thought that if you change 1943 before 1943, it will work ok. I changed some of this in my mod; I will check to see what is going on.

Greetings <S> All

Yes you absolutely can modify all those values. This is how it works.

In the Editor on the "Scenario" tab, on the left side at the bottom are four buttons. One of them is labeled "Pilots". Click that one and the page will change to the Pilot Replacement pool, Experience and Monthly Trained window. At the top right of these is a button to select the Year you are modding values for.

The first column on the left side is the Replacement Pool. This is the pool of replacements each Nation has at the start of the game. That remains constant on this page through all years. You can Mod from 1941 through 1948 on the other columns but this one is the same value you input regardless of what year you select.

The next column is the Experience values for freshly trained pilots for the year selected. That designates the experience levels of all pilots for each nations that complete their flight training for that year. This value can be changed for each successive year you Mod your scenario for up through 1948.

The next column is the Monthly Replacements that are input into the Replacement Pool for the year selected. Again you can modify the values for each Nation in the game as to how many Pilots that are trained and put into the Replacement Pool each month of the year selected for each year 1941 through 1948.

All these values take effect on Jan 1 for each year you mod and continue throughout that year. With the exception of the actual Replacement Pool value. What ever you have input there for each nation will take effect on the start date of your scenario. As your campaign progresses the Replacement pool will be modified as you lose pilots and as new pilots complete their training and enter the Replacement Pool.

Hmmm close, but not exactly as I have found it to be.

The rate column is not the rate that goes into your pool, but rather the number that will enter your training program for Month 1.

So, if you are changing rates/exp for '42 then yes, there is a 12 month lag before those pilots graduate your pilot training program.

At least this is what I have seen in my modding ...
