Re: Hierarchy Module Document
But now it should work. First, clicking on the unit (Hill's HQ) the movement popup gives the option to move via "Under Orders" movement:

Re: Hierarchy Module Document
Hitting return shows (for about 12 seconds) the movement path created. This gives the player an idea of whether there is any danger with the movement before it is attempted.
(Note that I can't do a screen capture while this is shown, so I have to take a picture of it instead).

Re: Hierarchy Module Document
I've fixed hierarchy bug #49. I had assumed attacking units had Unit Status of ATTACKING. But, it turns out, Limited Attack units have Unit Status of SUPPORTING. Go figure. So, now I include a check for units with SUPPORTING Status and there should be no more units retaining Attacking Status after combat phases.

Re: Hierarchy Module Document
I have implemented Additional Feature #24 and also implemented a new Additional Feature #25. #24 allows players/designers to display the list of formations in the OOB-Formations Dialog in sequential order instead of the original "sorted" order. #25 adds Manpower Totals to this dialog indentical to those totals on the OOB-Units Dialog:
Edit: Before anyone asks, I've since fixed the spelling error: Sequencial => Sequential.

Re: Hierarchy Module Document
Here, the new Sequential Formations option is unchecked and the formations are shown in a "sorted" order as has been the case since the dialog was introduced. Note that there is also a Manpower total line identical to that same line on the OOB-Units Dialog:

Re: Hierarchy Module Document
Here, after the checkbox is checked, the formations are shown in sequential order. The Manpower Total is the same:
Note: The Sequential Order choice is saved to the Opart.ini file.

The functionality of the “Sequence Order” is unclear as is the data column used to sequence formations. How is this revised OOB display useful to the user?
The original OOB default has formations displayed in order of their X,Y location. As desired formations can be resorted to appear in alphabetical order. The flags and formation details are nice, but I’m missing the intent of the “Sequence Order”.

Sequential Order => Ordered from first formation to last formation. The old way was sorted by "x" value.rhinobones wrote: Thu Sep 03, 2026 12:37 amCurtis Lemay wrote: Wed Sep 02, 2026 10:08 pm Here, the new Sequencial Formations option is unchecked and the formations are shown in a "sorted" order . . .

Where does first to last come from?? Is first to last supposed to be how they appear in the Force Editor?

Re: Hierarchy Module Document
Correct. Switch forces, 1st Formation is the "Current" formation. Hit the "Next Formation button and it goes to 2nd Formation, etc. Then hit "Previous Formation button and it goes back to 1st Formation, etc.rhinobones wrote: Thu Sep 03, 2026 2:17 amCurtis Lemay wrote: Thu Sep 03, 2026 1:18 am Sequential Order => Ordered from first formation to last formation.

Re: Hierarchy Module Document
I've now implemented Additional Feature #26: Here is the shot of the "File" pulldown. Before, the commander.cdr file in the Graphics folder was automatically opened when "Open Commander List(XML)" was clicked.
Now, when designers select "Open Commander List(XML)" a dialog will allow them to select a specific .cdr file.

Re: Hierarchy Module Document
Now, a file selection dialog opens and the designer can surf the disk for whatever .cdr file they desire. This folder has a suite of .cdr files I created as I modified each of my scenarios (adding each scenario's commanders to the commander list as I did). First, select the oldest one (Jutland 1916.cdr).

Re: Hierarchy Module Document
Of that list of .cdr files, the Jutland one has the fewest (2981) additional commanders on it (showing that it was, indeed, loaded):

Re: Hierarchy Module Document
After running it again and selecting the "The Next War 1979.cdr" option, many more additional commanders are available (3918):
