Yeah, that is exactly the issue, good UI, thanks!

I've updated the scenario with some fixes and tweaks, a refurbished OPORD and ROEs, plus some additional challenges for the players.

I highly recommend using at least B1705 to play it, or even better B1728. On** 1676 you'll see Shahed flying too early

One nice addition is the Unit Management System window. This window can be accessed using Special Messages and lets you have a general overview of your units, assign critical units to watch, check the status of units, assign them to missions, change doctrine, etc.

Image

Also, there's a view to check your ATO (Air Tasking Order) schedule, you'd set start and end times of your missions to be displayed correctly. To use the tags, you can click on the ? icon in the mission view, and you'll see what you need to do in order to have the correct tag in your mission.

Image

This window is still a work in progress, there are some bugs that I'm trying to fix when time permits, but overall I think it's a good tool for getting a better understanding of your force composition and mission structure.

Feel free to make any suggestions or suggest other things you'd like to see

Two things that I've noticed with the scenario.

1. I always seem to get the strategic victory screen about one second into playing the scenario after I deploy the units regardless of difficultly level.

2. The EA-18G doesn't seem to populate a useable loadout at any airbase. I've tried Easy and Hard with a $2000 budget base, no support features enabled, and had the issue at all of the airbases. Zip file is a save game for reference. If you need any additional information please let me know.

The UMS is really helpful in managing everything and I like the flexibility in the scenario as well!!

About 1, seems a locale issue with the date, what's your date format, I may need to include yours in order to the events work correctly.

I'll fix 2 asap, thanks for the heads up

Pretty sure 1 is PEBKAC on my end. I tested both date formats (I'm MM/DD/YYYY) and only got the error when using DD/MM/YYYY.

Yes, you should use only one

Scenario fixed with the Growler loadouts, seems to be an issue with the DB update.

Also some maps added to the OPORD

This scen is amazing! I haven't played this game in years but check in on it once in a while and stumbled on this thread, the setup looked interesting so I updated CMO and gave it a try.

Just starting the scen and making the choices and then placing them is neat. Well done!!!

One issue, there is a ship available, FF 06 Miguel Mavor - it has some decent SAMs but it can't fire them. I think this is a db issue. I added a sensor for the illumination radar and then it worked - I added CEA-Mount as a sensor/radar and now it can launch missiles.

I did it on normal with no special options and sank all the ships (thanks to the subs). I then tried it on difficult and that didn't go too well, the comms disruption was overwhelming.

Is the initial dollar amount a way to scale the size of the scenario? I didn't change it, didn't know what it did.

Again, well done, this is really good work. I really like the choice of units and how you place them, very impressive.

There's a minor visual issue regarding the description and information for the SBX.

Thanks for your words,

I'll check the FF06 but seems like a DB one yes, (I'll solve it with lua until the DB is fixed)

The dollar amount is a way to impose some restrictions and also present a challenge to the player to think how to use units + effects to achieve the mission. It changes based on difficulty and RED units (since there are a good amount of variation on RED deployment, I use the budget available to try to equilibrate it :)

This scenario is so cool! I would love to know how you built it blu3s. I tell everybody who will listen how much better this format makes scenarios. You really revolutionized the game for me. I just wish there were more like it. Does anybody know of any?

Thanks for your words. I'm using the SpecialMessage capability to display web content. Then linking the data to a lua function to make the deployment.

Iran Strike 2022 and 2025 by Kushan implemented a similar system based on this ;) and I'm not sure if there might be another ones.

Re Purchase Screen:
- Are not Seawolf submarines somewhat overpriced compared to Virginia Class, considering the latter's lower noise creep signature and similar flank speed (only couple of knots slower )

Just finished my first run in this great and highly repayable scenario. Congratulations. I got a blue strategic win in Hard/2000 base and I must say it was quite challenging.

My only complain is that the end came earlier than expected and it felt as if I was not allowed to climax :-)

To be more specific: after initial skirmishes I launch a massive naval attack with LRASMs and JSMs and HARMS against the RED fleet that more or less exhausted their SAM defences and took out or damaged one or two landing ships Type 07x and a couple of escorts, then I suffered a hammering from massive salvos of FIREBALLs and VAMPRIRES that, killed a DDG, destroyed my SAMs and costal defences. Also I lost my AEW planes and quite a few F22 and F35. Now it was my turn. The two Virginias torpedoed a couple of escorts and Type 07x and I was about to launch my second wave of massive naval attacks, sit back and watch the RED fleet go down in flames (or bubbles). But at that point the game called a strategic win for me (there were 4 Type 07x still around and other ships as well and four torpedoes were about to impact on the Type 076))

I'll check, it's being a while since I do not tweak scoring/victory points but IIRC there are specific events that trigger the scenario end. Fortunately, you can still play the scenario ignoring the end scenario window and keep going :)

Thanks for the feedback

It is impressive what you can do with the game blu3s, congrats :)

I have tested this scenario for the first time, this is what I have noticed, a bit late but perhaps useful if you still want to improve it.

2 CTDs, I guess related with CMO, not the scenario. Reloaded previous saves to continue.

v21 tested on B1892, outside of the editor. Settings: Normal and 1500 $. Thought I could win this setting, but nope

I spent all the money in units, so capabilities not tested.

- Description and briefing are the same except the final disclaimer of the briefing, I would divide it in 2, with the disclaimer in the description.

- Add some delay to the 1st special message so that the scenario features and options window is not hidden.

- Comms jamming is disabled in the options when there are platforms with this capability? There is a Comms jamming card though.

- "Use the latest beta version" and "SM disabled in the message log" appear 2 times.

- Date seems incorrect in

"OPERATIONS ORDER 25-001
DEFENSE OF LUZON
TASK FORCE STEADFAST SHIELD
241200Z SEP 25"

- 3 beaches are cited in the text several times, however on the map there are 4 LZs.

- Units in purchase, some pics are gone, example E-3G Sentry.

- Also some of the pics of the capabilities are not displayed (Pic 3).

- Add the LZs to the deploy map.

- Air deploy map Api Key problem (Pic 1). I guess this is a CMO problem, not the scenario. It was described in another thread.

https://forums.matrixgames.com/viewtopic.php?t=418507

- Many civilian units are detected automatically when the scenario starts, intended? Later in the scenario some of them had problems moving in the coast of Luzon, perhaps when the conflict starts it is a good idea to send them to the open sea or even to ports if you add them.

- Subs purchased were not deployed, perhaps I put them too far from Luzon? I had to play without them :( Retested, indeed this happened, perhaps add a message if you try to deploy where you cannot?

- Very short of LRASMs for the B-52s. Later in the scenario when they were used, they are toys for the Chinese, contrary to the Russians in Trident Boreal scenario. HIMARS were more effective, but they were used later when perhaps Red was exhausted.

- WZ-8 altitude is too high except for THAAD, not sure is a good trade-off, but I used them.

- The WZ-8 starts the spying of your positions before your own ACs are ready, advantage for the RED side, intended?

- 2nd ROE message too late, I was already at war.

- Chinese naval group has infinite AD missiles and never fail

- No magazines in bases where you have not deployed ACs, I think this is an important problem, that put out of service many of the ACs.

- And even in the bases deployed. There were not enough magazines, Storm-Breakers, LRASMs for a 2nd wave that could have won he scenario.

- This is a general problem I had, not enough weapons in magazines, another example HIMARS.

- Chinese Shaheds? Add Lucas for the blue side to deplete red side missiles.

- Lua History file with errors is attached.

- Around 1 day to go freezes every minute happened, Red missions with too many targets?

I stopped at this point, the Red side had destroyed too many facilities and I could not mount any counter attack due to the lack of weapons in the remaining units. The last attack with a few F-35s with the guns engaging the Red ships.
I could use stones if I had them ;)

Only 2 Red ships sunk from the escort, 1 destroyer and 1 cruiser.

Many more damaged, but that was not enough. Pic 2.

Re: Defend Luzon 2028

Thanks for the extensive report, appreciated it!

There are some things that are definetely wrong like dates, duplicates messages, etc.

Other items are deliberately, WZ-8 starting earlier, munitions, etc.

The Comm Jamming in this one is not related to the Comm Jamming model from Command (at the time of the scenario the feature was still PE only, and I wanted to create a customized model where units have different resistance to be jammed)

I'll try to solve the issues reported and do a new update, will be probably tested with the official 1.10 release so scenario is updated properly to that version.

As said, thanks again, I think if you use wisely the capabilities, you'll be able to won, the idea of the scenario is to see how capabilities + platforms create the desired effects.

The unwise use of the capabilities started losing the 2 subs by wrong placement
