I've been forced to give up Moulmein without a fight. The Japs moved in and cut my planned retreat path. I'm not willing to let the Moulmein garrison get totally wiped out so, I've pulled them out.

It's not just Moulmein Kid, if he moves NW instead he cuts supply for both Moulmein AND Rangoon.

Thats the same situation that made me plan for Mandalay. You can't let your troops get cut off without supply or you loose them all. Run like the wind! [:D]

The Battle for Malaya is going as expected. Allied forces are slowly being pushed back to Singapore. The troops holding Georgetown are now cut off and are without hope. Strong enemy forces have been detected surrounding the base. I expect Georgetown to fall in next few turn with the loss of thousands of troops.

I've got a dilemma in the Philippines. I have a very large force at Clark Field. These units started there and have quite a few Prep Points built up. They will do a very good job of defending CF but there are no strategic resources there. Do I move these units to Bataan to prolong the fight, or Manila to get the bonus for the city terrain, or leave them where they are?

the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperty Sphere is shaping up well.

Our first proclaimation will be the banning of all future "Stealth cruiser" actions by the Imperialists. Besides being unfair, it may force us to deploy our super secret "flying sub" squadrons. Saved for just such a special occasion.

SURRENDER NOW.

What are the rules on capturing supplies & fuels when you take a base? Do you get 100% or some fraction of that?

Just curious!

Thanks in advance

The facilities may get damaged but as far as I know any resources that are stockpiled you get them all.

That is one mother "focre" of a problem![:D] Without knowing too much about WitP land combat (YET[8D]), it looks like you might hold at Clark unless/until the Japanese try to flank you at Lingayen. If they do that, then it might be best to retreat to Bataan at that point...but at least you force him to go around ya! Guess you could also retreat to Manila and have two strongholds (Bataan & Manila) immune to being cutoff, by land at least, in which to hold out as long as possible. Just be sure to have that PT boat ready to take my "boy" out before things get too critical.

By the way Kid, thanks much for the consistent screenshots...they really liven up the thread and make it easier and much more enjoyable to follow. Scrolling through nothing but eye-deadening AARs gets a little tedious sometimes.[&o]

two reasons:

1) if the defender attacks (either deliberate or Shock), he losses his fort bonus for a full turn which, if the counterattack fails, would surely lead to the fall of the base far earlier than if the LCU's sit on the defensive

2) Shock attacks are potentially VERY dangerous now.....dangerous for the ATTACKER. In UV, there wasn't much difference in terms of risk and cost between the two attacks so players Shock attacked till the cows came home. Now.....well if you want an example....go back to Kid's last AAR posting and look at Yennen and Rabaul. The former was successful but still quite costly while Rabaul was a disaster.

My boys are too outnumbered. Also, in WitP if you set you units to shock attack you lose any benefits for fortifications that turn. I sure as heck don't want to face the yellow horde in an open field.
