A "spoiler" in german is that wing thing racing cars have on their back. For getting ground pressure.
The saying "Kaliber statt Spoiler" is one I and my Artillery comrades made up when we were making our tank driving license on the Leopard 1. Of course a lot of tankers where around in that camp so we had to defend ourselfs with bold speeches about just how cool the Rocket Artillery is
Kaliber = big artillery stuff [:D]
Spoiler = some tanks look like they have one when you put all the camo nets and personal gear on the rear part of the turret

RE: Conquest of the Aegean?
Sounds to me like the descision has already been made...Panther are gonna go modern!
Perhaps Dave and Paul want to get back to their TacOps roots (I know it's a differnt scale).
I must say, I don't think I would be that interested.
I've demoed TacOps, BCT/ATF, owned Red Lightning (remember that), to name a few, and they din't really do it for me, I think you have to haved some kind of military background to be really into the modern stuff.
If you do 80's, you've got to have Tac Nukes to score Max on the "Realometer", and that makes one hell of a sh1tty end game!

Oh, no! I knew that those "slaps" were coming, I knew it. [:D]
np, BTW.
We tank guys often traded our nearly boiling coke cans with the panzer grenadiers and arty guys in mid winter. We just wanted cold coke. [:D]
I loved being the heavy cav. [8D]

So I guess its back to the desert[8D]........damn flys, damn sand, damn Rommel.[;)]
That would be awesome!!!! This game engine was built for the North African campaign.
It would be the only game that could accurately depict the movement back and forth across the desert.
IF AA:Arika Korps was in the works I would definately pre-order now.
RE: Conquest of the Aegean?
I second AA:Afrika Korps. I have been playing the new Panzer Campaign El Alamein. I think it is the best of their games yet, but can only wonder how incredible the campaigns would play on this system. It would be a shame to have the perfect engine for desert war and not to use it. I'll buy three copies if you make it.[X(]
I am really looking forward to COTA!

You'd have liked the ASLAV-25 our cav guys used - it comes with a bar fridge!ORIGINAL: Panzermann

Come to think of it, "modern" is probably not much of a challenge either, who could stand up to the US armed forces.
Mmmm....true...there aren't many countries...but...perhaps that's because...even their allies are taken out by them! [:D]
Kind of a sneaky way of taking over the world![:D]

RE: Conquest of the Aegean?
I'd spring for some Eastern Front action... early Blitzkrieg ... the Desert Campaign... and I'd get a heart attack if you guys could figure out how to do some Napoleonic era stuff. I'd probably even shell out 50 bucks for some good modding (with weapons and unit editing tools) and mapping tools [:D]
It is sincerity and faithfulness. It is self-sacrifice, duty, adherence to principle and unwavering loyalty to one's lord despite what the lord stands for, good or evil. It is an acceptance of one's place and status.

I'd love to see:
- North Africa (Crusader)
- Modern (Germany 1970-something)
- Some East Front Campaign - Bagration maybe? Seems one sided, but needs not be.
In the "Too obscure to be true" cathegory:
- Nomonhan 39 (I'd say Panther will never do this campaign, but after COTA all bets are off [:D])

RE: Conquest of the Aegean?
[:)] Yes, I am interested in the Desert War. I took the plunge on PC El Alamein because of the large campaign game. Of course, If AA:Afrika Korps is created, PC will collect dust on the shelf. I have to say I am looking forward to the whatif Malta scenarios in COTA. I think maybe we should start bidding for game titles. We would be helping out Panther and actively lobbying for what we want.
My two cents (maybe more if its AA:Afrika Korps [;)]),

RE: Conquest of the Aegean?
i'm new to the forum, but i have read this entire conversation. i must say i am looking forward to COTA, no matter what the price. the price of $60 may seem high, but based on HTTR (which i enjoy and will continue to do so), i would be willing to pay. i am very interested in developing a study of the aegean campaign, as it is rarely (if ever) represented in our community. i definitely agree that this engine seems to be perfect for a depiction of desert action. even more so with the development of a campaign system along with an improved supply model. if the Bulge is still in the plans, i'm definitely in the market for that. i believe this engine redefines gaming, and would be willing to purchase any titles that come along, as it gives a new look at some of the old tried and true game subjects (MG, Normandy, Bulge) would be looking forward to France/Low Countries 1940, Italian campaign, maybe even try the pacific (although i think that might be a pipe dream). rather than the IGOUGO standard of gaming, this gives the most realistic feel of combat command that i have experienced. keep up the good work fellas.
RE: Conquest of the Aegean?
That's it ....Rats, Foxes, and Sand!! Think of it, starting with Rommel's first foray at Agheilia and across the Cyrennaica to Tobruk...Can we get that all on one map? Think of the crisp maneuvers of small unit actions, with supplies always restricting your actions. Better yet let the supply situations be moderated by your successes in CotA, moddable for "PanzerArmee Afrika" beginnings. Panther guys, "I've got the money, if you got the time".

OK. As soon as we get your check for next years salaries and overheads, you can choose whatever battle you like. [;)]
BTW Paul and I are in Columbus Ohio for Origins at the moment. No doubt we'll hear from a few people at Origins what battles they would like covered. It does appear that everyone has their preference and that's good.

Interesting,......and how much do you estimate that to be? Now, of course I will assume exclusive rights to distribution , .......correct?
