Sorry Shoe, but the campaign engine is rather more finicky than the single mission scripting system. It's going to take me weeks to document it well enough for people to understand what they need to do, and getting anything to work is going to require an even-greater-than-normal amount of support from me. This isn't something that anyone can simply tinker with. Even figuring out what kinds of things are possible is going to require my working closely with each team from the very beginning of each project. I'm willing to do all of that for free, but not unless the teams are serious about producing something real. I've spent enough nights not watching my children grow up as it is.

Not too hard. The guy who created it is french, which means the english manual is a little tricky in places. I figured it out in less than a day, including the time it took to write the exporter for Magic.
any reason you chose it over all the others?
All what others? VirtuaLight was free, available via download, had a manual that explained its data format, and seemed to create nice images. I experimented briefly with anim8or, but it always gave me trouble reading Wavefront OBJ files, so I gave up.

I have no idea how long I spent on the box art. Marc and I traded images back and forth over the course of several days until we came up with the final version. I had to tweak several of the models because VirtuaLight can't handle tiled textures. So I had to subdivide certain polys so that texture coords wouldn't go out of range. Mostly it was a matter of playing with the lighting parameters and moving and scaling the ships so that they looked cool in battle.

Hi Milo -

great game just bought it a few days ago and I love it. However one suggestion why did you name the modeller Magic? The name is so generic for a cool game like starshatter is there any chance of ever renaming it to something better. It just doesn't flow right with a sci-fi game if it was an RPG game I can see the name.

Just my suggestion thanks

You should check out toxic here.

It's pretty cool, but hard to configure with no interface. I made a version of Shatner that exported to it, but since you need to configure the camera settings on your own, it's pretty hard-core :)
