Doing some testing and built this AAR of a particular situation that I got myself into as I played Russia...
I was doing pretty good in the game with Russia after I won a small 1.5 year conflict with Turkey BUT noticed in the VP scroe card that Prussia was still leading me in the VP battle so the polite thing to do would be to give Prussia a chance to defend herself.
My plan was a two pronged attack:
North prong to Konigsberg then on to Danzig.
South prong directly to Warsaw.
Results:
North prong took Konigsberg.
North prong got hung up at Danzig.
South prong moved toward Warsaw.
Prussian army moved to Warsaw and were able to lay siege for one month with no success then Brunswick showed up with a bit of Prussian cavalry and spanked me costing 3 pp. I attempted a small counter attack that cost me another 2pp which is now where we are today.
Potential problems:
My army has a pretty large contingent of militia!
I'm now helping my largest competition go up the VP scale!
My supply costs were HUGE! Can't keep this up forever!
Prussia was allied with GBR which when called, DOW'd me and cut off my trade!
Looking for advice...
