Well he got one free days worth of attacks in. Normally he wouldn't have had the chance to attack with the bombers at all.

Actually you should be very happy with that result (compare to historical results where they never hit anything of value).

Bring dive or medium bombers next time. ;)

Quiet turn more bombardments at Batavia.

Clark will not hold much longer

China is shaping up to be a major barney

It is getting close to the time for Sveint to have another crack at Rangoon and Burma his troops will be rested and replenished and probably reinforced so I am unclear whether I can hold or not.

Andy.

RE: BATTLE LINES CLASH IN NIGHT ACTION

Another quiet turn.

I have a plan but I cant tell you what it is as Sveint wil see it [:D][:D][:D][:D]

I figure he is prepping himself for one of three operations.

1. Burma followed by an attempt at India.
2. Java and rest of DEI
3, Australia/ NZ SOPAC LInes of Comm.

1. Burma is to be blunt expendable India isnt which is why this is the plan I am giving most attention to defending against despite my view its the lowest liklihood.

2. Java and DEI is the most obvious move but it is to some extent a neccesary one I am preparing defences but I am unsure whether Sveint will go for the obvious.

3. I think a feint against Aus NZ is always possible but the real concern for this strategy is my SOPAC convoys.

As a result at present an undisclosed number of US CV's are at large in SOPAC.

Enterprise is damaged but should survive.

The leaves Lex plus any CV's I spare from SOPAC to resist Sveints next move.

It will require carefull thought and a careful balance of forces between possible targets.

That's pretty bad results for the Betties.

That's pretty bad results for the Betties.

Generally, I've found the Betty to be worse than level bombers like the Helen and Lilly at attacking ships. It makes no sense. I thought the primary purpose of the Betty was for naval interdiction. In this case, the altitude of 10,000 feet may be a little too high but the results should still be a lot better.

Bad weather. Would be nice if the combat report stated weather conditions.

I figure he is prepping himself for one of three operations.

1. Burma followed by an attempt at India.
2. Java and rest of DEI
3, Australia/ NZ SOPAC LInes of Comm.

Just a quick update as to Japanese plans.

The next major move is still on hold pending the fall of Clark Field/Bataan. Minor operations and China going ahead as planned. Takes a while to move troops around. I can say this much: I intend to surround and destroy a large amount of enemy troops. Hopefully it will work as planned.

Oh and a note on my use of KB and carriers in general:

I don't belive in raids or risking my carriers (or wearing down the experienced pilots) needlessly. Hence KB and/or major carrier units will only make an appearance for the following conditions:

a) Offensive stalls because of lack of airpower (example: his heavy bombers in Java)
b) In support of MAJOR operations
c) In defense against his carriers

Furthermore, I intend to use my CVs to sink enemy ships and avoid using them for airfield or port attacks unless 100% necessary.

Relatively quiet turn Sveint left one unit north of Rangoon from his last foray.

I have been using it to build exp in my LBA cheaply.

I now have 6 Hurri 2 Sqns at avge xp greater than 70 and most of my Blenheims are getting there as well.

This makes them infinitly tougher and more dangerous.

I rotate them on a regular basis to avoid fatigue getting high.

Im surprised he hasnt tried to long range cap them.

Good turn for the allies traded 30ish Dutch/ US Fighters for 27 Zeroes and the Zeroes were at long range so im figuring all 27 were pilots lost.

A few days of that and Sveints edge in pilots will be lost

Also a Japanese army at Kweiyang was defeated by Chinese forces.

3 Inf Divisions backed by 2 tank and a few art units forced to retreat !!!!
