RE: General Staff meeting in Tokyo...
Allied GHQ reports a few problems with data transmission.
These issues have been resolved and we are moving forward again.
Much as I hate to say it its been even more turns of quiet.
I have lost sight of the IJN CV's since they supported the operation at Timor.
I lost a little battle north of Rangoon last turn and the city will fall soon but as I am sure the IJA has figured out I am not really intending to hold Rangoon any more its more of a delaying action now.
With the cessation of the Java campaign it is just to risky that he could do a PZB on me even at this late stage.
We are in the middle of 42 I hold Rangoon and northern Burma. India is relatively secure (thanks Wobb !!) Australia is secure China and NorPac are both quiet.
Overall not much happening !!
I think the next strike will hit CentPac / SoPAC / SWPAC but I cannot be sure.
Until I spot those CV's I will be nervous.
Now it could just be that he has sent the entire IJN strikeforce for refit and is planning on going defensive on me but I doubt it.
So far losses have been acceptable (although 150k casualties on Java hurt)
I just don't know where he is going next.
With so little info the Dominions are all screaming for troops and aircraft I have a guess where he will go next but it is a complete WAG.
Only time will tell.

RE: General Staff meeting in Tokyo...
A free more weeks have passed with not a lot happening.
Its has been really quiet which has suited me.
The longer things remain quiet the more Spitfires I get, the closer I get to P38's and my eventual comeback.
In Northern Australia the Java Army Group was officially disbanded.
Various units are now retraining, absorbing replacements ans training for future operations.
I rescued about 40% of the troops on Java at the end most of which have been sent to backwaters to act as garrison troops while front line formations move forward to take up the torch.
Sveint as expected assaulted Rangoon and has just taken it destroying 30 B17's on the ground and capturing 15,000 Chinese troops that I didnt retreat quickly enough.
OK he has taken Timor and lower Burma where will he strike next..
(Those two operations were predictable and I chose not to fight it out)
The next one will be interesting.

Operation Drumstick
Excerpt from the Emperor's diary: The last ship in Task Force Drumstick set sail today. The operation involves more ships, aircraft and troops than have been involved in ANY of our operations so far. Imperial Intelligence assures me that the target has not been discerned by foreign operatives. Nothing can stop us now... August will bring us victory or defeat.
RE: Operation Drumstick
OK I have to admit I have been well and truly Humbugged...
It is now the end of July and after 6 weeks of compete quiet where literally nothing happened after the fall of Java the Japanese are launching a massive offensive.
Every scrap of intel / sigint and spotting indicated that my wily opponent was going to hit either NZ or India (which I thought was lunacy in July) with most indications indicating India as the target around Madras.
Well Allies of course prepared for it massing troops air power, mines and ships in Indian waters ready to destroy the impudent Japanese for daring to try and do a PZB to me.
And guess what hes going for Northern Australia (aaaarrrgghhh !!!)
I have been humbugged, humbugged I say !!!
At present all it has been is air raids but 2 days ago I got my 1st indication through Sigint that my opponent was hitting Australia.
Yesterday he hit me hard at Darwin and Derby.
Intel expects major landings at two or more northern Australian bases in the next 48 hours.
I will do another little sub AAR concenring the defence of Australia to describe my intentions and defences I won't do it in this thread as this info is classified.....
This is going to be a fight to rival Java in intensity only this time I cannot afford to lose...

Well I meant to get a screenshot but lost it. The assault on Australia
begins. First day is an airial bombardment of Darwin and Derby.Darwin
had no CAP (surprisingly), and Derby had much stronger CAP than

to try to achieve surprise on this one, but I'm not sure I have been
successful.

RE: General Staff meeting in Tokyo...
AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 08/03/42
I can post again!
The landings at Wyndham have been a complete success, I've only lost one AP so far.
In China, their resource production is further reduced but it is costing me aircraft. By the end of the year my goal is to have taken away any means for the Chinese to ever go on the offensive.
And finally on a side note I just discovered that I was still producing Ki-51 Sonias! I quickly put an end to that and converted it to fighter production.

RE: General Staff meeting in Tokyo...
Wyndham has been a disater (those reading my littel sub AAR of the defence of Australia will know my plans for stopping the IJA cold so I will not reveal those plans here ....loose lips and all that !!!)
Given the overdeployment of heavies to India I am trying to make the best of my mistake and have initiated an air campaign against Burma.
Heavy loses at Mandalay last turn indicate that Sveints bluff at India has resulted in me over weakening my Mandalay defences.
I am seriously annoyed at the fact that he hoodwinked me so thoroughly. Allied intel have had the choccy biscuit ration removed from Tiffin time as punishment.
A war of attrition in the air has started at Chungking. I can afford the losses as all my Spits are in India that he is not invading now ;(
I suspect he cannot however China is already in deficit supply wise so not much that can happen there.
