Now I´m afraid that the Allied bombers nearly every time will use these ship killers. No problem to get your bomber groups in the 70s in mid 1942, also no problem to get more than enough supplies for the Allied. So the only thing for the Japanese fleet is to stay out of range of allied level bombers not to catch one of those 2000 kg!!!! AP killer bombs.

a) They are not ship killers.

b) They are very slightly better then Japan's 800kg AP bombs.

c) the 2000 lb is a HE, not a AP.

d) the 1000 lb is an AP and as such doesn't have the punch of the 1000 lb GP bomb. It will penetrate but do less actual damage.

e) Torpedoes STILL rock your world so don't be thinking you now have a magic weapon that makes you immune.

Hope that these heavy AP bombs aren´t used in masses...... What are the requirements to get the big boys on an airstrike?

What? Like the 800 kg bombs or torpedoes in ports where no torpedo attack could occur due to simple physical limitations of geography and net defences? (not to mention that 800kg bombs and torpedoes were not produced in the same quantity as standard bomb designs)[8D]

Ron, grow up will ya. You know that information doesn't exist so why bother harping on it after all this time. You had your chance to produce the info during the alpha and make your case. Lets not bitch just for the sake of bitching.

Two new bombs (1000 and 2000lb AP) have been added to the device database file which the program will now use when needed.

Michael

Ah I see, thanks. I was being paranoid and thinking that actual new columns had been added to the table rather than just a couple of rows. So, no problem, cool :)

One thing that wasn't apparent to me (probably because I don't understand all the listings) is whether the bug concerning dividing LCU's resulting in an improvement in disruption of the sub units compared to the mother unit was fixed or not ?

Bump.

Didn't see an asnwer to this. It's been observed that dividing a unit in v1.4 results in the sub units having a substantial reduction in disruption values. Did this go away too in v1.5 ?

What about the AI's base forces growing all types of devices, not just the AV support? (CD guns in the hundreds, Engineers in the hundreds, etc)

Thanks for the clarification on Shock, Mike.

It'll be interesting to see what effect this will have on Hong Kong, and Singapore.[;)]
Rivers will actually be useful to defenders now.

Hello...

I suppose the planes will eventually get shot down or prang on landing. Since the extra planes will be in reserve, you might try transfering the group and as the planes in the fragment, repair and come out of reserve, transfer them to another base where you are short on planes and disband them into that group. That's what I do, when the scenario starts with too many planes in a group.

Hello...

The program checks to see if the game save has the new 1000lb AP and 2000lb bombs. If it does not, they are not used.

A lot of the rule changes require a restart since they require access to new device table data.

"New device table data" - does this mean that existing scenarios will not work with 1.5? I am thinking of the CHS mainly.

Related question: If the answer to the above is no then will it be possible to load a pre-1.5 scenario into the editor and re-save it in 1.5 format?

Thanks for all the work BTW.

Hello...

They were used about 8% of the time. Testers complained and have now increased it to 25%. May change again.
