A joke? try this.

This is just the latest. If it doesn't make sence, start at Number 1
T.
"The 15th May, 1948, arrived ... On that day the mufti of Jerusalem appealed to the Arabs of Palestine to leave the country, because the Arab armies were about to enter and fight in their stead."

I'm back to my earlier point again. Bitching about this to Americans in the WIR forum is an absolute waste of energy.

I understand this Ed. If you look at the order of posts you'll see I gave up our little arguement was finished and things moved on but Brick.....just annoyed me!
Just because you disagree with my views Ed it does not mean its bitching.

As for "hate" versus "dislike", in to many situations "dislike" is just the politically correct way of saying "hate".

If I wanted to use the word "Hate" I would have Ed.

Which proves my point. If all or most Australians felt as you do, you wouldn't be alone in your demonsrations.

I'm alone on the forum. Not alone in my beliefs.

There is no conspiricy in the US to destroy other countries' cultures.

Really Ed! Thank god for that I worried for a while. I dont remember mentioning a conspiricy anway.

Look Ed- I stand by what I say. I dont regret on single word I used or how I phrased what I said.

We Americans know about the resentment of American culture in the rest of the world

It seems not all Americans are aware Ed.

but what he said does not take you off the hook for what you said.

What did I say Ed? I'm not trying to get of the "hook" Ed. Not at all.

I got Muzrub to show himself for what he is and I'm done. Never really expect this kind of stuff from an Aussie, though.

Yes Brick and you showed your own true colours.
As for showing myself who really cares Brick?
What purpose did your exercise in peddling **** achieve?
I suppose Australians in your view should be thankful to Americans such as you?
I think not!

There is another element to this which is sometimes overlooked. All languages have a basic vocabulary of roughly 50,000 words. Each language has certain strengths in it's ability to convey information. I am told for example, that if you want to discuss maters spiritual then Arabic is the best tool for that subject. What english has that is making it the dominant secondary language world wide is not due to american business practices. English in addition to it's basic 50,000 word vocabulary has roughly 250,000 more words to describe technical matters.
The language is spreading because it's useful and that makes it a vector for culture (or the lack thereof).

"peddling ****" Cute. Weak, but cute.

Actually my purpose is to comment on my perceptions of Australians. Contrary to my view of you, I perceive Australians with the utmost respect for making a great country for themselves under very difficult conditions. Australian culture is terrific and not all that different from the more rural American culture which you see little of outside of the country since we are so dominated by our urban centers. My impression is that you don't represent the average Aussie. I've known, worked with, and partied with several Aussie navy guys and they never gave me a cause to think they disliked Americans at all. And they weren't ones to keep their opinions to themselves for nobody, either.

(btw: The Aussie Navy pays about 2x as much to their service people than the US does, also. Enlisted guys were able to afford apartments on Coronado Island, down in San Diego. A US enlisted guy couldn't have touched one with what he makes.)

The only thing I see wrong with Aussies is their pretty heavy sexist attitudes and their mistreatment of aboriginies. But, being an American, doesn't exactly leave me in a holier than thou position. Fortunately for both of our countries we are each improving in these areas.

People are always different where ever you go.
I'm sure the Aussie lads you knew had their views and I have mine- maybe the issue never came up while you knew them.

My views are not "bizzare" by any means. Many people here believe the same.
But I voiced my opinions here.

Brick (what a sturdy name)

Sexist? HoHo, dont start labeling individuals 'cause of their nationality. You want cultural sexism? I could name scores of countries where the 'accepted norm' IS full on sexism. (the males in those countries have no Mojo whatsoever.)

White australians have treated this lands' indigenous peoples about as well as white americans have treated the north american indians, need i say more? What we did not have was a 'little big horn'....... unfortunately.
I see australia and the US as invaded countries. If we do'nt do a good job of making those invasions worthwhile and providing a net benefit for the human race then we are just greedy bastards who have by force destroyed other cultures to expand the dominion of the white anglosaxon. As you say, let us both hope we are improving in those areas.

Obviously not enough Australians believe as you do, or ending trade with America, and the banning of American culture would have occurred long ago.

Really Ed! Thank god for that I worried for a while. I dont remember mentioning a conspiricy anway.

You implied it by referring to "your people", as if we are all in the plot to anger Australia with tariffs.

Look Ed- I stand by what I say. I dont regret on single word I used or how I phrased what I said.

That is unfortunate.

Ed your just being stupid here!
Do you really want to keep this arguement going?

I never a said lets have black ban on American culture or products! I said American culture is filtering into ours and I dislike that! I also dislike the the buying of Australian popular brands.

Dont worry Ed the Australian people are aware.

You implied it by referring to "your people", as if we are all in the plot to anger Australia with tariffs.

Once again Ed your twisting words to suit your attack on my views!

Stop trying to tell me what I am "really saying".
It really is a waste of time.

That is unfortunate.

Why should I take beack what I said!
I meant! what I said.
I dont really care if you think "I hate America" (those really are your words Ed- or what you really think should be mine)

How about this Ed- twist these words "Kiss my arse"

Some time ago there was an interview with Kylie Mino..Min..Kylie Mi&#8230;well a famous Australian singer with a bloody difficult name.

The bloke doing the interview said that for Swedes Australia was the most popular choice of any country should they for some reason be leaving Sweden.

Better watch out! When the next ice-age hits us, we&#8217;re coming! Btw, do you have any snow down there &#8211; don&#8217;t know if I should bother to bring my skis?

Muzzie, ED. You guys need to read this. Bretton Woods was the start of everything. The Cold War was setled right here, it just took 4 and a half decades to work out the details.
http://www.brettonwoodsproject.org/about/background.htm

Curious about just what your two very different viewpoints say. I'm not sure who to talk to about moving this thread to AOW, but it might not hurt to have it there. We wouldn't want to corupt any innocents, would we?

Ok, I'm stupid and you're a Yankee Basher. I'm very dissapointed, it looks like Brick was right about you all along.

No need to twist these words, you're just confirming what Brick said, and what I hoped wasn't true.

I have heard rumours that we do have snow here! <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0">

But you still might be better off with water ski's.

A Chinese man had three daughters; he asked his eldest daughter what kind of man she would like to marry.
"I would like to marry a man with three dragons on his chest", said the eldest daughter.
He then asked his second daughter whom she would like to marry.
"I would like to marry a man with two dragons on his chest", said the second daughter.
He finally asked his youngest daughter whom she would like to marry.
"I would like to marry a man with one draggin' on the ground", said the youngest daughter.
