Japan Summer 1944

With the Allies landed on our glorious island, and our complete lack of resources Japan sues for peace. We get no response however as the Allies are determined to finish the job...

Well, Honshu was overrun, I will not go into the details. It was a Total Allied Victory.

My thought on this game:

- The 2 concurrent blunders by Tyler of leaving Finland and Rumania open for being taken were critical. At the time, I did not think they were THAT critical, but the loss of ~2 turns in dealing with the problems caused (giving Russia some breathing time), as well as the 14 PP's needed to repair Rumania were, in the end devastating. I really, really, like this game, but it is best suited for anal-retentives, one slight oversight of a missing unit, or missing supply..........

This was the game, in a nutshell.

Axis Defeated! Peace declared!

I really enjoyed this game even in spite of my few terrible errors. I think Rumania was a VERY huge blunder, but I do not see the WA landing in Finland as being as significant. I think another huge factor in my defeat was my very very poor use of tech. My tech was pathetic actually and this was directly a result of my inexperience. I learned so much from this game and I had alot of fun playing it.

It is my sincere hope that at least a few lessons can be learned from some new players who read this AAR. That would make my shame bearable!

I would like to thank Monty for a very well played game. It is a big commitment to agree to do an AAR and stick with it. Monty was a class opponent and player all around and without him, this AAR would not have been possible. I look forward to revenge, so stay tuned for a revenge AAR! Coming soon to a forum near you...
