Supply is pretty poor across the board as several resource sites have been bombed. I was not surprised by that landing but the Allies have so many divisions by this point they are hard to stop. It is now 1945 and Japan's days are numbered.

Supply is pretty poor across the board as several resource sites have been bombed. I was not surprised by that landing but the Allies have so many divisions by this point they are hard to stop. It is now 1945 and Japan's days are numbered.

Ah, but what a fight it has been! Do you think you can stretch resistance out into 1946? In game terms, I don't see the forthcoming nukes as being that decisive and you have already been at war with the Russians so no big surprise coming there. The historic one-two punch that forced Japan's surrender doesn't seem to be operative in this game. And, of course, you know that the US does not have unlimited supplies of nuclear weapons (which the Japanese could not know).

So many questions! I just get the impression that there are a few places the Allies are bogged down (Rangoon, Shikka, Petro...) but perhaps those are all places were the unopposed march of other allied armies will enable them to bag a few hundred thousand Japanese troops. Of course, if those losses continue in Rangoon, the cavalry will be unnecessary.

So my questions:

(1) how far are the armies in E. India from routing the Japanese and pushing deep in Burma?

(2) How does the (former) Soviet Far East situation look? Any chance of an Allied army pushing inland?

(3) What is the current VP count? Last I saw was 67K allies, 60K Japan -- you're into 1945 and I guess the allies are starting to get more strategic VPs from bombing, but will that and the conquests be enough? I am doubtful that that can occur unless China is liberated or some major Japanese armies destroyed (Rangoon?). But the allies are on a a bit of a time, a 6 month seige like Shikka isn't too productive, unless it has tied down so many troops that the Allies are piling up the points elsewhere (Taiwan, Bangkok, Saigon)

(4) Are the allies pushing up from Bangkok and down from Jorhat? If so, it seems like they could cut off everything in Burma from supply.

So many questions! Petro has already been taken by Zeta and the fighting there just consist of Japanese left behind. Rangoon and Shikka are still under Japanese control and fighting has been going on since Aug. 44.

They have yet to start trying to cross the trails so it will take a while. Plus there aren't that many Allies left in India (just a covering force behind level 9 fortifications) as huge numbers have been moved to Southeast Asia.

It's is an option but there are quite a few Japanese divisions around. There is the possibility of a Rangoon-type situation again.

I think it is around +10K for the Allies. It will take some time before the victory point ratio is 2-1.

Yes, Japanese supply in Burma is running out. Zeta most of dumped a huge amount of supply into Rangoon before he lost control of the air. I just dumped around 70K in there from the DEI and it was used up pretty quickly. There hasn't been an Allied resupply convoy sent to Rangoon in months.

(5) Why is the "seige" of Shikka taking 6 months?

I'm not sure. The Allied units have probably suffered some long-term damage.
