I managed to ship into Japan a lot of oil and resources in 1944. The submarine warfare in this match has been very unrealistic. I think I have destroyed 150 Allied subs so far and maybe lost that same number of transports to enemy subs.

Basically. In my experience, Japan has plenty of destroyers and PC ships. I could have sunk more subs but since they rarely sunk anything themselves I just often let them go on their way.

Your opponent probably just keeps them in port because they don't do much damage.

RE: Great Retreat Begins
Oh no, I can find them. The Jap ASW groups just can't sink them; they sort of mill about in confusion, using up precious fuel. The majority of kills have been by aircraft.

What year on you in? Be sure to check your destroyer and PC ship officers - they should have a naval skill of 60 or above.

Not sure why without further details. How many ASW ships do you have left? Do you get attacks on the subs with lots of misses or just no attacks at all?

RE: Great Retreat Begins
Plenty of "escort x unable to locate sub", but also a respectable number of "escort x firing depth charge" without hitting anything. I have sunk SOME subs, but not many.

Yep my subs have been useless. His subs have sunk several of my carriers though.

Not sure but the score is right. If you look at the Japanese top plane loses it shows the correct number.
