Here is the over all Map with my movement in the last two years a little show of future movement.

Hmmm... it seems we have a disciple of MacArthur, judging by the strategic approach being used! Doug would be pleased [:D]

Hi, Critics of Mac have never played the Allies in WITP. It does not take too long for Allied players to realize that the Mac route does not require carrier battles or shock attack atoll landings. The target base is first isolated by LBA and then swamped by forces covered by that same LBA. The process is repeated as the Allies move forward.
Central Pacific battles require carriers and before any landings can be conducted the IJN has to have been defeated. The Mac LBA keeps the IJN away.

His navy is gone, but it is so much easier to take no island and atoll bases. Landings are killers on troops and really slow things down. Also with the land mases it gives you more airfields as I try not to go over 500 planes per level 9 base if at all possible. China or Korea is next up, but the key wil be if I can get the 2 to 1 point advantage before 8/45.

Why does it matter if you get to 2-1 before August?

I think 2 to 1 allies before the real end date of WWII is some type of victory. If you use the bomb it changes your victory so on. I think that is how it is.

Hi, You want an airfield that can support B-29 missions to home islands. Bombing can score 1k points or more per week.
It appears Brady is going to come from both directions. He has captured Menado and Wake. His CV are busy pounding Marcus currently. (It is only 3/43 (sigh) )
In the SRA I can't move TF into range of his LBA (already lost 2 TF to no result) In Central Pacific he hits and runs with TF that has 100+ CV fighters.

I know what you mean, In playing freeboy after 43 as the Japanese it is hard to sail any where in range of Allied heavies. Heck freeboy was pounding my ships with P38J's from all over the place. Freeeboy killed me from Marcus as he bombed out Iwo from there then Japan from Iwo without taking any of the Mariana's or Formosa or Okinowa.

You can't counterattack at this point? It still seems early and he isn't going to have that many CVs available until '44. How many carriers do you have left?

Hi, It is early (much too early for me)
When it comes to combat between Japanese LBA and Allied LBA Japan is holding it's own with the exception the Allied bombers inflict greater damage. So it becomes a matter of number of airfields in range. When the battles were in NG the Allies had more airfields and so advanced. Now in SRA Japan can use more then 1 airfield and I hope to stall progress here for a while.
In Central Pacific he has been really lucky in avoiding battles. I accept the blame because i have been reactive rather then prepared. (When he landed on Wake the IJN CV were all at Singapore because I first feared a landing in Burma and then hoped to thwart landing at menado but Allied air slaughtered a IJN CL/DD force at a range that would require my CV to enter to attack. )
The most recent Japanese foul up was after the landing on Wake I thought Marcus garrison too small and sent reinforcements the USN CV caught this force the other turn (after the troops had unloaded)
Brady has a few tricks. He sent the RN CV to join USN CV and seems to have used the RN torpedo groups on USN CV (greater range) However I have been where I thought "next turn" at least 3 times and everytime he has been gone before my CV could find him. All IJN fleet CV remain there have been a few CV actions where IJN CV were damaged. I lost 2 CVL and a CVE I'm not certain what damage I've inflicted I think perhaps 2 USN CV have been sunk.
I wish I had more time to devote to AAR (rather then actually doing turns 16 hours a day) It seems few of my opponents like to write AAR either. (perhaps they are busy with real life 20 hours per day)

The retreat back into China has begun. Luckily there are no Chinese left there to prevent this move.

The overall score is turning the Allies direction but there is a long way to go still.

The Allied carriers lost so far, Hirohito orders a dozen more to be sunk.

looks like a roll over bug. [:)] A 2s complement 16 bit number that has rolled past its maximum and into large negative numbers. [:D]

Sounds like a good idea.
