Hi GH,

Looking good. Can spare some more troops to Burma? If you can can you show a screen shot of your airplane production - I am taking notes from you Herr Professor![&o]. Just to inform you, I don't read mc's thread. I think 1 sided threads are more meaningful .. you can bare your soul and seek advice - provided your opponent don't read. The readers can really analyse and appreciate the war better. I must say your situation is looking good. Go for the 4 to 1 and wrap up the game! BANZAI![:D]

Waiting for the next turn to come in....

Hi Patrickl, i'll post the plane production as soon as i get the new turn, however, i can say that i'm thinking a lot in these days about the aircraft production. there are many things that are still not clear. For example. The ki-100, army fighters, isn't listed in the upgrade path of my army fighters....and none indipendent new groupd is scheldued to come in with these planes...what to do????[&:]
Do Sallies and Helens factories automatically upgrade to Peggy as soon as this plane comes available?
Is it woth to expand towards 100 the Jack production? Is it better than the A6M3? It uses Mitsubishi engine...which is a good thing.
Another question is wethere is worth is produce even more Kawasaki engines...at the moment i produce 160 of them each month with a pool of 900...but as soon as the Tonies become available i'll need 270 engines each month!!! Again: what to do!?
And what about the Randy....is it worth to keep some Sonias-Anns-Lilies groups in order to be able to upgrade them to this fighter bomber in late 44????

This game is so complex!!![:)]

Ok, now some overviews on my Defensive strategy in the pacific.

As you all know i've already reached my maximun extension here. My plans are to delay his path towards mariannas. Being this the final goal the general stragey is based upon 2 main concepts: Strongpoints and flexibility.
My defences are being built around 3 perimeters.
The external one will be used as a "pillow". Canton Island,Baker,Pago Pago,Fiji,Lunga-Tulagi,Gili gili, PM,Lae and Wake, will be my sentinells. They'll be lighly garrisoned ( none of these bases will have more than 200 Assault points and 30 Aviation support points), with very few of them with CD units ( actually only Canon,PM and Wake). He will have to touch one of these bases before advancing again, and when he will start his landing operations i'll allert my fleet and my Air and ground armies.
No Major efforts will be made to defend these bases. Probably some carrier operations, but only if supported by a strong LBA force. So to say Baker and Nanoumea ( with LBAs based at Tarawa), PM-Gili Gili-Lunga ( with LBAs at Rabaul and Bouganville). Canton,Fiji,Pago pago and probably Wake will be left to their own destity.

The second perimeter is built around 3 Major strongpoints: New Britain and Bismark Isls., Bouganville and Tarawa.
This will be my second defensive line. Each base will have at least 100/150 Aviation support, at least 200/250 Assault points, at least 1 CD gun unit and one Air HQ with enough radius to coordinate air attacks from different bases.( see map for details).
All these bases will be full of fighters, bombers and recon-search planes. The combined fleet along with the pacific Carrier fleet ( 7 CVs+2 CVLs+1 CVE) will be committed if needed. The 17th Army, based at Truk and composed by 2 Crack divisions ( the Imperial and one yet to be decided), 2 Bdes -South Sea Det and the 56th, 2 arty units and 2 Eng Rgts, will be ready to attempt a counterlanding or reinforce threatened places.
Each of these bases will be heavily mined ( i plan to lay at least 1000 mines in each base in the next 30 days).
Assuming that China will be mine within the next 6 months i'll be able to transfer one or 2 more divisions in this theatre.
However the key of this concept of defence is to have a serie of bases that can protect each other easily.
if i know him a bt he'll start bombing to dust PM or Lunga with his 4Es and make a Fast Transport landing at Gili Gili or Lunga. As soon as he commit his normal transports or his CVs i'll activate my betties/Nells and my 11 range zeros,in coordination with the pacific KB, keeping the Tojos-Tonies for CAP duties, and will try, if the possibility arises ( no allied CVs around), a counterlanding with the 17th Army.
The other way he could take is from Palmyra. If i was him i'd invade Baker Island, bombing Canton with my BBs, build up a 4 level AF and start to reduce Tarawa into pieces. Same as before: i'll mass my Betties-Zeros at Tarawa, allert the CVs and the Combined Fleet and the 17th army.

The third and last perimeter is rapresented by Truk and Kwelajein.
Useless to say that any attempt will be made to make these bases invincible.

So, very few supplies/fuel will be leaved in the external perimeter bases, while the bases of the second perimeter will have at least 15k supplies and 10k fuel each, using Truk and Kwelajein as main Hubs( at the moment i have 350,000 fuel at Truk with 200,000 supplies;100,000 and 100,000 at Kwelejein; 90,000 and 35,000 at Rabaul and 10,000 supplies in the other bases).

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 07/03/42

WHAT A DAY!!!!

Burma:
one more Indian division came in ( 1 hex N of Mandalay)....we deliberate attacked....and kicked their butt out of Burma again![:D]

Ground combat at 34,28

Japanese Deliberate attack

Defeated Allied Units Retreating!

Losses were a bit high...but the destruption should be on his side!
Now i gain some more days...probably 1 month before those bastards can organize a new attack near Mandaly. Now it's time to concentrate on the western british attack ( near Magwe!)

Thunderstorms really helped me today. Not a single bomber flew in Burma[:D]

CHINA:

On the crossroad west of Nanning, 2 naval guard units pushed back thousands of chinese men[:D]...and they retreated exactly where wanted them to go...towards Nanning and not northwards towards Kumming[:D][:D][:D][8D]...the pocket now is ready to be closed[:)][;)]

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ground combat at 38,37

Japanese Deliberate attack

Attacking force 6272 troops, 34 guns, 0 vehicles

Defending force 25743 troops, 34 guns, 0 vehicles

Japanese assault odds: 6 to 1 [:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]

Japanese ground losses:
150 casualties reported
Guns lost 5

Allied ground losses:
206 casualties reported

Defeated Allied Units Retreating!

Then...another big match...60miles N-W of Daily Waters....his last Austr division arrived just in time to be pushed back:-)))))

Ground combat at 34,89

Japanese Deliberate attack

Attacking force 42243 troops, 444 guns, 163 vehicles

Defending force 16811 troops, 138 guns, 71 vehicles

Japanese assault odds: 5 to 1

Japanese ground losses:
619 casualties reported
Guns lost 35
Vehicles lost 3

Allied ground losses:
435 casualties reported
Guns lost 12
Vehicles lost 8

Defeated Allied Units Retreating!

Now my western flank will move southwards....pushing him back. at the same time the 16th Div will move into Daily...bringing the strenght to 1200 APs....while my tanks will keepthe pressure on his right flank!...he's going to be scared[8D][8D][8D]

Stay tuned...one more turn to come tonight[;)]

Bath of Blood at Daily....

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 07/04/42

Ok guys...another day not for those with heart problems.

Nothing happened with land troops today...but in the air there were 2 main great actions!

First of all:
At Daily waters. At Dawn almost 200 4 E bombers took off from Alice Spring. nearly 100 fighters engaged. The battle was really really tough and harsh. Results were not as terrible, but i lost 58 planes on the ground and the AF has damage of 45 runaway and 45 service...not good!
However he lost 29 B-17s and 40 Liberators in A2A, against my 22 fighters...so only 22 pilots lost so far...not bad, c'mon!

He'll have to rest his bombers now...and during this time i'll repair Daily AF and replace some squadrons and planes!

The other action was at Mouleim. I forgot to move my planes and he cought me unprepared...losses are high but i can handle them for the moment. The daitai of zeros and the sally sentai have been retired and put on training mission at Manila.

He's going to suffer for these losses...experienced bomber crews gone for good!
We'll keep the pressure at Daily up and try to finish the chinese affair asap!

RE: Bath of Blood at Daily....

Now...some Australian scenarios....

He will probably keep on bombing me. I do not give a dime about that. I'll use every single available plane to defend Daily waters. If needed 100 more zeros(around 70exp) can be moved from Luzon or Singapore to Darwin.
The goal now is to determine the fall of the australian allied front and possibly destroying some units.
I still have a good card in my hand: the 16th Division. He's not aware of its presence, exactly like the unawareness of the 5th div on my western flank has made him push there with only 1 division and one cav bde.
I now have the western flank, which is my weaker flank with 800 APs, advancing southwards; the central front at Daily with 1290 APs and the eastern flank with 1300 APs....not bad.
If my goal is to create a pocket, i will have to turn around his right flank( the eastern one), cause will be the one where his units will have more problems to move back( no road to march on). So the plan: advance with my western flank and engage another fight with the allied retreating units. He will pobably try to reinforce a delaying defensive position S-W of Daily, but to do that he will have to unguard his backguard ( the hex south of Daily). In the main time my tanks will advance on my eastern flank ( 120 miles east of Daily) and move in the hex S-E of daily just 60 miles from the road that leads to Alice. This movement should menace his communication lines and he'll have to move in another unit ( he has the 3rd tank bde as reserve there) to engage my tanks. At this time, my center, supported by the whole bombing team at Darwin, will attack his center. If i manage to defeat him there...well...his whole eastern flank will be sorrounded, while his center will not have the chance to fight back. I'll advance south of Daily and close the gap and the envelope.

Doable?......it all depends on him. If he makes a mistake he can find himself in a terrible situation. If he doesn't , i had gained, nevertheless some more time to delay his advance towards Darwin.

What do you think?
What would you do?

thanks

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 07/05/42

A quite day.
His heaviests stayed home today both in Burma and in Australia. It's clear that they're licking their wounds after the harsh air battle of yestrday but i'm sure they'll be back within 5 days.
My air fleet isn't in a good shape. I'm suffering so many op losses in China, probably due to the fatigue levels. The Sallies/Helens pools are almost empty and i need to rest my crews for some days. the 60% of the bombers in China will have a break of 2/3 days now, while the fighters will be patrolling my main bases.
In Northern Oz my bombers hit again his western flank, causing some good damage to his troops. Tomorrow will be the time of his rearguard, then of the enemy's eastern flank and so on unitll i do not understand what he's planning.

Tomorrow we'll attack Nanning, guarded only by 4000 men. There won't be any problem. Then the pocket will be almost closed. One unit is already marching to close the trail that leads towards Kumming.
5 Chinese units are moving from Kumming to Burma. Gotta be ready to hold Lashio in the next future against an assault coming from the east.

The Southern Fleet will be reunited at Singapore. 1 CV,2 CVLs,2 CVEs,2 BBs,4 CAs,4 CLs and some 25 DDs.
The 35th Bde is moving with a Tank regiment towards Sosarbaja from Manila. If i was him i'd be tryin' a landing in Java considering that all my divisions are busy somewhere else.

38 Nates ( 36+12) with crews in their 80s are moving towards Darwin. will be the first squadrons upgraded to Tonies/Tojos in August( as soon as the production starts). Will help to keep the skies above Daily free of enemy bombers.
27 more zeros are arriving from Singapore. 77 exp and a very good leader. will substitute a zero sentai whom experience has dropped to 56 in the last months....

For Patrickl....here's the screenshot of my actual A/C production. Today we brought the virtual production of the Jacks at 75/month and created some more 20 Nakashima engines at Tokyo.

Hi General Hoepner,

First of all, thank you for you showing the airacraft production figures. I can see you are short on the Army planes. Humm, must take note of that in my game agianst AI.[:D]

Secondly, congrats on containing MC in Burma and Australia.. I think he is getting scared so maybe he would retire for a while and then come at you with more troops?[&:] Your 3 ring defence system is solid. [8D] He should be in a tough time for a while.[;)]

Cheers!

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 07/06/42

New problems arise on the horizont.
Today for the first time, after months of reconning, the first 4Es bombed at Night Bankok, taking of from Akyab. This is going to be a problem, cause i cannot evacuate any further south and above all i do not want to!
His heaviests however are still resting. Today was a clear day in Burma and except for those 16 liberators, none of them showed up during the day. I bet his next targets will be Bankok and Hanoi...quite sure about that. Gotta be ready and wait for him!
Now that the first attack have been repulsed in burma i'm waiting for the second one near Magwe. I must defend the 2 hexes where his troops may interrupt my railroad. I will move back to Rangoon, acting as reserve the 65th Bde and the 15th Army HQ that along with the 38th Div and the 4th Mix Rgt will form the reserves.

In China more units aremoving out of Kumming...[&:]Is he evacuating!?!?!?[&:][&:] Anyway i'll start to bomb Kumming back to stoneagenow that the avanguard of my army is only 60 miles away.
Nanning fell today abut the pocket is not closed yet. Will move one more eng unit towards Kumming now that it's not usefull here anymore.

Now the big things.....

My Glens NE of palmyra spotted a TF composed of 2 BBs....so to say 2 big ships....Probably...if i know him, he's moving his BBs towards Brisbane from where to start a serie of naval bombardment missions in new Guinea or Lunga.
I'll keep on following that TF and will be ready to welcome him in NG[8D]

It's been a week now since he started to recon my Northern base of Paramushiro Jiima.
He's probably considering a landing in this area that is lightly defended.
These are my plans to counterattack:
One more Naval Guard unit will be moved there, along with AAs. Mines are present in number of 2250...so not bad.
I only have one DD division defending the northern sea.....but if he comes with BBs and CVs won't be enough, abviously.
At the same time i need to upgrade some of my Carriers and destroyers
So the plan is the following. 3 CVs will be moved back to Japan, along with 25 DDs, 5 CAs and 5 CLs. 3 BBs( yamato included) will follow.
If he dares to come in he'll find a nasty surprise, if he doesn't, I'll have 3 CVs upgraded without losing the controll over the south pacific, where the other Carrier division ( 3 CVs+2 CVLs+1CVE) will be ready to fight, along with 2 more BBs.

The other problem is now western Oz. He started bombing Exmouth. Probably he's training his new B-25s that didn't enter in combat yet ( so green pilots). I only have 1 SNLF at Exmouth so there's little i can do....

Java...here goes my attention now. I payed the price for another Division ( the 7th) that will be moved from Sapporto to Sasarbaja, along with the newly arrived 2nd Army HQ. The Java garrison will soon consist of 1 Div,1 Bde,2 Tank rgts and 3 Naval garrison units. If needed one more division can be disbanded from Burma ( the 38th i think).

What else?...At daily one or 2 more turns and we'll start the attack on his center!
BANZAI!!!

7/7/42

In China today RAF showed up again, while his liberators are hitting my AFs in Burma from Akyab.
At tsuyung 24 fighters and 17 aux are spotted.
He's trying to get back in the air in China after Burma. Gotta do something.
680 planes will attack Tsuyung AF tomorrow from different bases. 30 fighters will be on LRCAP there, while the rest of the fighters will escort the bombers. Gotta close down that damned AF before he can estabilish his hurricanes and spits there!
Forecast says rain for tomorrow in China[:(] Let's hope for a bit of luck...
The supply situation in China is dropping. 30,000 supplies are loading at Tokyo-direction HK

Tomorrow we'll attack his center at Daily...let's see if i can get something important in this theatre.

No other big news......

I need to mantain the air superiority over china if i want to conquer it....it's taking too long[:(][:(][:@]

Cannot wait to see the results of the next turn....

Next few turns will be decisive both in China and at Daily.
If the weather is on my side i can close again his only operational Af in China...but i know what's waiting for me there: higly experienced british fighters...and my zeros aren't at the same level. At the moment i bet on numerical superiority, but i know it's gonna be bloody....however there's no alternative way to do that!
I must hold the skies in China for at least onother month...untill my Tonies/tojos can substitute my higly experienced Nates squadrons and i can use only for escort duties my precious zeros.
I'm also willing to see what kind of defences does he have at Kumming...75,000 men can be a lot, but it all depends on forts....

In Oz if i manage to push him back at Daily i can have a chance to trap his eastern flank. 1300 APs can be a lot or can be just enough to get a 1-1....let's see. However his advance has been stopped for the moment and he's taking back his left flank, so the main short term goal has been achieved.

The BB TF spotted yesterday N of Palmyra is today signaled as a CV TF. 3 CVs are spotted between Palmyra and Christmas Island..... I do not know if i have to believe to my glens. However I will keep my South Pacific Fleet at DEFCOM 2 and be ready to counterattack if he dares to come closer to Tarawa...but no AP/AKs TF are reported, so it's probably a raiding TF or he's transfering his CVs to Noumea. All my transports in the area between Canton Island and Tarawa have been ordered to come back to Kwalajein at full speed...just in case

The worst day

Post by Gen.Hoepner »

8/7/42

A bad day.
At Tsuyung for unknown reason i got beaten in a horrible way. 22 zeros lost against 1 hurricane and 1 spit...incredible...and my zeros are at 75 exp....[&:]
The bombers did not do their job in the right way...very depressing. the base is full operational and every single day more fighters come in....tomorrow will be my last attempt. 700 planes involved.....if tomorrow we'll not succeed in closing that base and we lose another great number of planes it will be over in China[:@]

At the same time it seems that he's evacuating from Kumming. 7 units are now at Tsuyung and only 17 at Kumming...strange.
At Chungking it's taking too long....i start to feel real bad.

At Daily my bombers didn't fly due to a coudy weather. The attack went with 0-1 and losses are 4-1 in his favour. Another defeat[:(]
I lost the hopes of encircling his units at Daily.

At Christmas island the enemy TF seems to be now composed of 2 CVs and 2 BBs plus a number of different warships( DDs,CAs etc)..... I won't engage. Not untill i understand what he wants to do. My subs will keep following it and my Emilies are allerted.

The tide has changed now.
Will be tough to defend my gains....[:o]

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 07/09/42

A very important day, after the defeats of yestrday.
The weather in China was partly cloudly, but i was lucky enough to have my main bases free from any clouds.
His plans now are clear enough: he's trying to get back in China with two main means: clear an air corridor between Kumming and Tsuyung
for his supplies and troops to come in from Burma, defending Tsuyung with his experienced RAF fighters. At the same time he moved his bombers to Ledo from where he threaten my chinese bases and from where
he can bomb my units and so stop my advance.
My main goal now is to push his fighters back, having no weapons against Ledo and its bombers...

Today we've launched 2 major air offensive against Tsuyung.
The first one took of from Hanoi and was quite succesfull even if by 200 bombers i'd want some better results...

The A2A results are 22 vs 26 in my favour, but overall the plane losses were again on his ( 78 vs 41).
However now Tsuyung base has 40 runaway damage and his most experienced squadrons took a strong punch. Tomorrow thunderstorms are forecasted in China, so i grounded most of my bombers and gave a sweep order to my fighters.

At the same time i have to keep an eye on CAP. He's started to bomb my troops stationed at Kumming....and this means that
he'll soon be able to bomb my bases....

The only real good news of the day is that my researches in Tony model have produced a result: we're already producing them in July:-)
As soon as the first 36 tonies will be ready in the pool i'll upgrade the first sentai of Nates at Shangai ( 83 exp!!!).
In one months i should be able to deploy 150 Tonies in china, flown by experienced crews. So my zeros will be free to move back to Pi and train , while some of them will escort the bombers...but none of them will be CAPping my bases....
Finally something to fight against his 4E bombers!!!!

At Kumming he only has 15 units now....he's clearly moving everything to Tsuyung. In the next 2 weeks i'll be able to deploy at Kumming 1600/2000 APs...should be enough i hope, but i'll have to LRCAP my troops...

The battle for China is going to be really tough!!!!

In the pacific i lost contact with his supposed CVs....this ain't any good!:-(
But i can clearly see a very intense traffic around Bora Bora....one of my sub got sunk today by DD morris...Will he park his CVs at Bora Bora?
My Carriers aremoving from Truk to Tarawa...just in case... Cruise speed to save some fuel and not to get worn too early.
I haven't understood yet what his plan is here...

As i was saying, the early arrive of the Tony changes a bit the scenarios, especially in Burma and China.
Till now my zeros had to attack and defend all over the different fronts. China, Burma,Oz, Pacific.....it's not so strange that the losses have been so high.
Their experience, altough is still quite good considering the efforts they've made in the last 8 months, has dropped, while the allies have at their disposal now a lot of higly experinced crews with good planes.
Now my flexibilty will be hampered. I will be able to train back something like 4 zero daitais, while those which will remain on the front will be used for sweep and escort missions.
The main goal of the Tonies, during the next 2 months, will be patrolling the skies over the bases from where i can launch my major attacks( Hanoi,Bankok,Sian, Daily waters) and fight against the flying fortress.
The first sentais that will be upgraded are based in China and Burma. By the end of July i plan to have 3 full sentais( 36 planes each) fully operational in China. Then in August 4 more sentais will be ugraded to Tonies and few more to Tojos( 3 by the end of August).
At the moment there are 38 nates ( 80 exp) ready to be upgraded at Darwin. 24 Nates at Singapore( 83 exp). 6 complete sentais ( a total amount of 216 planes) between 78 and 83 exp in China, along with 3 Chutais ( 36 more nates) in their 80s. 72 Nates ready at Truk ( in their 80s).
So to say...314 fighters pilots higly experienced!
More 200 oscars needs to be trained...but it looks quite good( most of them are already at 60/65 exp).

In Oz everything is still. He's back with night bombing at Daily and i started to bomb his troops again. If i do not succeed in doing something decisive, i'll move back to Darwin one division and one Regiment in the next month.

At Exmouth the number of allied planes attacking the base is encreasing every day. The base has been mined yesterday and will be mined again for the upcomming days.

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 07/10/42

Ok, the first short-term goal in China has been reached: Tsuyung AF has been closed. Today not a single british fighter was there to defend that precious airfield! and now the damage level is up to 80!
The real problem now is that Ledo reached level 5...so to say that now the 4Es can operate from there, from Imphal and from Akyab... He's reconning Bankok and Hanoi with a particular attention: a strong Zero CAP will be provided at Hanoi, where most of my bombers are based. Tomorrow storms are forecasted in China and Burma, i've ordered one last big effort against Tsuyung. If we won't fly tomorrow my bombers will be spread out again in many rear chinese bases and Chungking,Kumming,Lanchow and Sining will be hit again.
The first 12 Tonies are now in active service!!!:-) They're repairing at Singapore and will soon be moved at Bankok!
His heaviests today are hitting and closing all my AFs between Bankok and Rangoon....my aerial front is being pushing back with no means to fight[:(]

In Oz everything is quite...or almost. My western flank reached his retreating units 60 miles west of Daily and will be waiting for the 5th Div to come in before attacking again and pushing him back, while he keeps night bombing daily and my bombers keep hitting his troops.

The big allied TF ( now spotted 2 BBs, 3 CVs 2 CAs, 2 DDs ) is moving southwest of Christmas. My CVs are approaching Tarawa...but he doesn't seem to be looking for an engage( his DBs are all set with naval search 0...only the kingfishers are spotting my subs....[&:][&:][&:])

His recon missions at Paramushiro Jiima go on. The whole area is being fortified but i'd need a lot more of time!

these are the numbers of Kumming.....do not know yet what kind of forts are present here...but it doesn't seem impossible to conquer it! I'll probably have 100,000 men without any big problem here....if needed one or 2 divisions can be diverted from Chungking siege ( which is taking toooooooooooo long!!!)

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 07/12/42

He started night bombing my AF in China from Ledo....it's depressing to lose each night 15 planes without even the chance of doing anything about that[:o]....
Chungking AF is operative again:-( Tomorrow we'll try to close it down, but my Bombers desperately need some rest and my zeros are still called to CAP and i have not ebough of them for escort duties....it's horrible!
Now we produce 280 Tonies each month!...tomorrow the first sentai( 36 will be upgraded), while the first chutai is still repairing at Singapore.
At Kumming i'm still waiting for some more troops to come, before trying any attack, while at Chungking my troops are still struggling to get there...
Some pockets are being closed but it's always a damned long work to destroy those bastard encircled chinese units!

In oz it's a strange war of position...while he keeps bombing Daily at Night...some maps to follow

2 CVs are ready to be upgraded at Osaka.

The yanks are growing stronger each day. Now he has placed fortress and liberators both at Akyab and Ledo and started to night bomb my Airfields in Indochina and deep China. And you all know what does this mean, right? 20/25 planes destroyed on the ground each night and the inpossibility of any fighting back....[:(]

This AF is now almost closed, however Tonies are almost ready to come into action and in one/two weeks i'll be able to substitute my zeros in China with better planes

The reponse of the IJAAF was not that bad: two big raids over Chungking:

Some 4 zeros on LRCAP over Chungking managed to shoot down 5 dakotas...i must keep his main bases in China covered with some LRCAP...as soon as enough tonies will be comming into the front positions, some zeros daitais will be used for this purpose

His wellingtons keep on pounding Mouleim, while his fighters keep on training in northern Burma.

Troops are flowing towards Kumming, which is lightly defended. I'll organize in the next days some more bombing raids, as soon as some tonies will be guarding my bases while the zeros will be escorting.

Now finally the 2 pockets near Nanning are closed. Only 2 chinese corps, in a real bad shape, manage to fight their way through my net and are now struggling on the trails that go towards Kumming. 65,000 chinese are doomed west of Nanning.
In the pocket west of Ichang, the yellows are prooving to be fierce and good fighters, but their fate is however already written. 20,000 of them will be,sooner or later, taken as Pows!

In Burma my i keep rotating my units in and out Rangoon, to recover from the malaria and the costant british bombings.
Still waiting for his second attack to come in near Magwe.

The first Tony Chutai arrived at Bankok. 83 exp.![:D]

In Oz we manage to arrive with 750 APs on his left flank. He has there now 1 Aus Div and one Cav bde. I wanted to attack the last turn, but i decided not to be hurry, cause my guys had the fatigue on their 50s and the distr. on the 30s....was a good decision, cause today 150 allied 4Es bombers came in and destroyed th 4th Mix Bde![:o]...my bombers from Darwin gave our payback, killing more than 300 men of the 4th Australian Division. Tomorrow we'll attack and there will be 50 zeros on CAP over my guys and 150 bombers supporting their effort! The idea i to keep his center and his right side pinned down with costant land bombardments, while the western flank advance and manaces his back door!

His operations against Exmouth are getting stronger each day. Now B-25s and some 50 ducth fighters keep on attacking my base every day.

At Paramushiro Jiima 36 Tonies arrived to cover the skies here in th upper north. He keeps on reconning my bases with his catalinas from Attu, which is already level 6 AF....that means that he will be probably use some 4Es here too....
But he could always go for an invasion.....i'll keep 3 subs with glens south of Attu and 4 of my CVs ready at Tokyo to intercept!

What else? well, the first part of the 2nd army is unloading at Sosarbaja. 1 Division,1 Bde, 2 Arty units, 2 eng rgt and one more division yet to come from Burma ( as soon as i can master to replace it with something else).

My main fleet is upgrading. 100 DDs have already upgraded and 3 CVs have now their AA upgraded[:D]

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 07/15/42

Our brave men manage to push back again the aussies!!!![8D] His left flank is crumbling and keep on losing positions!
Now he will be forced to strenghten ( sp?!) the hex S-W of Daily which is now held only by the 3rd Tank Bde...He's risking, and he knows it. If he calls back some of his units from the center or the right side, i will attack!
The plan is always the same. Keep his center or his right flank pinned down with costant bombardments and advance on the western flank, so to close a pocket! If he doesn't want to risk that, he will be forced to move back his units...but he will need a perfect timing and i will be ready to attack and isolate any unit that won't be on time[;)]

In China today he bombed with his B-17s my 51st divsion which is busy bombing Kumming( seems that he's calling back some units from Tsuyung).
I made another raid over Chungking, while tomorrow the bulk of my bombers will help my troops getting over the Nanning Pockets that are prooving to be quite hard to eliminate!

More nates are being converted to Tonies. 12 more are ready at Singapore(78 exp)

He's bombing Mouleim's resources....no way to defend them[:(]

Minelaying operations are on going on at Kwalajein,Tarawa,Baker,Canton,Bouganville,Rabaul,PM,Lae,Gili Gili, the solomons, Saipan and the Mariannas, Paramushiro Jima and Java.
