Admiral Speedy bit his lip as he read the incoming damage reports. He'd only just successfully transfered his flag to the damaged but still operational Soryu when he was given the bad news. Soryu was the only remaining asset available to Kido Bootai. Kaga would most likely not make it while Akagi and Hiryu were knocked out...no hope of getting them back into the battle.

"all right" the admiral was heard to murmer, "We still have one carrier facing at most, two US carriers. Soryu can handle them......prepare a strike immediately! Banzai!!!!!"

Soryu managed to get off two strikes against Admiral Nik's forces, catching them with their CAP mostly down. Hornet was hard hit but still alive. Soryu's time...however was running out for the American counterattack was not far behind.

Epilogue:

Admiral Speedy, still wet from his last dunking sat in the wardroom of the Kongo, wondering how the hell he was going to explain this disaster to Admiral Yamamotto. Kaga, Soryu and Hiryu were all lost. Akagi's fate was still up in the air...

and the Emperor would not be getting any bananas.

Admiral Speedy began exploring alternate career options....maybe a job in IT sales? hmmmmm.

Admiral Nik....the victor of the battle of Ndini....was promoted to Grand Admiral. He would later run for office and be elected Prez.

The war continues...............


In all fairness the 16/17th January 1942 saw virtually NO Allied response in the slightest. Nik is clearly a Sir Robin [;)][:D]

Both Manila and Sinapore were bombed mercilessly from the air by IJA units. No losses were reported.

Several minor islands were gobbled up around Rabaul - Arawe, Admiralty, Torokina, Lae, Magwe etc.

In Burma an advance was made NE from Pagan by 2 IJA divisions. 2 x Burmese brigades were rapidly pushed back to Mandalay with minor losses being incurred.

KB and mini-KB's locations remain secret. That is apart from the natives hearing the saki parties aboard Ryujo celebrating the demise of the poor excuse of a carrier Hermes [8D]

Hudsons from PM attack various mini transport TF's dotted around the Bismark Archipelago. A minor bomb hit an AP ferrying troops Most of the region is under Japanese control

Clark Field is bombed again, Japanese air rules the skies over Phillipines and Malaya now with the only Allied planes in locale being Wirraways and search planes at Singapore. The 64th Sentai had a ball over Johore today shooting down 2 Wirraways.

Singapore was bombed by IJA mediums from Johore. Even at 22,000 feet the intense flak shot down 5 of the 89 attackers. Nevermind. Soon the rat hole will be mine!

Madang is taken on NG.

As mentioned the army has reached Clark Field. It wouldn't surprise me if Nik retreats into Manila itself knowingwhat a coward he is. Initial probes will be launched tomorrow.

Little in that apsect except SS KXVII patrrolling near Amboina had a 250KG bomb put into it. Bye bye sucker.

Also a couple of BB's decided to pay Balikpapan a visit. Low damage in general (200 casualties) but a B17 was blasted on rthe ground and the AD BLack Hawk took another hit.

On both the 20/21st Blenheim's from Akyab paid a visit to Rangoon airfield. They achieved zip other than catching some bullets themselves.

Sallies hit both Singapore and Clark Field from 20K+ feet causing light damage and losing 3 of their number.

I wondered if Nik was the type to hit resource/oil centres in th SRA after I capture them. He is. Forts escroted by Brewsters attacked Tarakan. The F2/Tainan Daitai is stationed there and had lunch with the Bresters. Ensgin Yamakuzi shot down 3 of the gits:

A British convoy was spotted on the morning of the 21st nearing the port of Chandpur. Rangoon was laerted and 13 Bettis took off with Zero escort. They swooped in low and undetected hitting 4 AK's:

Here's where the fun begins.

But today saw the begiining of the end for both Clark Field and Singapore.

At Clark over 1600 Japanese artillery pieces had been sighted and blasted away at the Allied defenders. The fire was deadly. Over the 2 day period 1100 casualties were recoirded and 60 guns knocked out of action. Death to NIK

At Singapore the men stormed the river and met a hail of bullets. Banzai's were called and vicious fighting erupted. 4000 Japanese casualties were reported vs 3000 Allied casualties.

The now usual sweep of Rangoon by Blenheim NF's which achieves nothing other than miffing the locals when a Buddha is shot up due to the poor aim of the Brits [8|]

Both Clark and Singapore bombed by Sallies. Minor damage caused on air installations.

Oscars proweled over Luzon today and found the remaining 2 PT's boats. Pesky b*stards. They were summarily dismissed to the sea in a hail of MG fire and bomb hits.................

The phase 1B landings occured today at Kendari. The heavy guns of $%$*&* and £$^*£$^*£^£ protected the landings. No interference was caused by the Allies. All men are ashore and the place will be mine tomorrow.

On Borneo the mend have advanced nearer to Samarinda. All troops that debarked at Tarakan are marching on foot and today rushed across the nearby river sending he Allied scum in full retreat 60 miles nearer to Samarinda.
