Feindeer,
I like this approach for an AAR. I get tired of the ENDLESS combat reports! This is why my AAR will never have a combat report in it. You can do the same thing and be original so things are more enjoyable to read--not to mention being easily more followable...

Keep it up!

Sidebar: I like your tactics of stinging and running with your lite forces in the DEI. So many Allied players simply run away and cede all that territory to the Japanese player. I say FIGHT every step of the way. You will take high losses but that is what happened originally. BLEED the Japanese!

ANYWAY...my two cents...

Who? Me or --HIM-- ???!!!

[;)]

He's got 424 APs, and 477 AKs to start with. Even if I sank every single one of those ships (bah), it would only be 10% of his total shipping. LtFightr's right that, considering the fact that he's months ahead of the historical time-table, losing (probably) 25 tranports in two weeks is a modest price to pay. And cosider, "What are you gonna do with them after you're done expanding?" (when Allied LBA begins to interdict).

It's certainly occurred to me that I better be gearing up for an invasion of Oz or India at this point however.

Also if you can push the pace it does not let Him empty the DEI as much as well as the Dutch af replacement rate is not all that high. Once you can hit it with a couple of good bombardments or hit an attack with enough zero's it becomes ineffective. Also the longer you wait the zero bonus expires and the USN fighter groups fill out and the Number of CV's starts to ballance. None of those are good things for the IJN. Plus he has dinged a few ships not many are on the edge of going down 3 that I can think of and most of the inital invasions on the Drive to Manila and Singapore are done. Most of the rest will have full aircover or KB around. Most of my losses in sunk ships came from a stupid mistake on my part attemping one base too far. So I am feeling pretty good and in another week or so the nates will be history. The Oscar should be able to almost hold its own for a while (I hope.)

BTW the 16th is in your in box almost a quiet turn for this game. What you should be gearing up for is operation $%#&$.

These two bone-heads are my favorites:

Code: Select all

Sagara Maru AK	2x Torp 12-15-41
 				1x Torp, 6x Bomb	12-14-41
 				2x Bomb 12-13-41
 				1x Bomb 12-09-41
 = 9x Bombs and 3x Torp = Still kicking!

Sunten Maru AP	5x Bomb 12-11-41
 				3x Bomb 12-10-41
 				1x Torp 12-09-41
 = 8x Bombs and 1x Torp = Still kicking!

Thanks for the compliments. To be honest, my favorite is Fear and Loathing. They also use a lot of maps (except that theirs are actually from WW2 archives, cool stuff), and there's quite a bit of funny stuff in there in you read the memos.

Unfortunately, I don't get around to updating this AAR often enough. The actual game date is currently 01-09-42, so I trying to get caught up a bit. Some surprising victories for me, and a major (DOH!), you'll have to stay tuned for. But again, I'll definately recommend the Fear and Loathing, it's very good.
