After sinking 10 DD in 2 days, the KB is returning in the Solomon Sea waters. I spotted over 100 bombers at Noumea afld. It's better not to stay there.

Near Menado the TF leaded by the PoW, with Repulse, CA Exeter, 6 CL and 6 DD met, during the night a jap TF including 2 CA, 3 CL and 15 DD.
Not much happened: 2 jap DD on fire and then the jap TF fled.

BURMA

Tavoy has been captured by the jap.


SO PAC

In Pago-Pagohe tried another shock attack, but the jap men conducting it were only 73. The jap garrison is composed by 3 Nav Gd Bn. So I suppose that they are near the end.

The 3 more damaged BB at PH are just 3 hexes from SF.

MALAYA

Great shock attack today against Johore Bahru. I have 135614 men against 33760 brits.
The fort reduced to 1. Losses: 2093 jap and 942 brits.

DD Blue, damaged by the a/c of Kido Butai days ago, sunk today.


DEI JAVA

The air campaign against Batavia is proceedings smoothly, and not too good. Today I lost 2 Zero agains only 1 Hawk. [:@]


SW PAC

At PM I destroyed 2 Hudson with my planes attacking from Rabaul.
At Lae I'm expanding the airfield but the Zero are already operating.
Admiralty Is. and Goodenough I. have been conquered.

AUSTRALIA

I returned over Darwin, after days of calm. He rebuild the squadron of Hurricane but I attacked with 19 Nell escorted by 38 Zero from Amboina. I lost 1 Nell but I shot down 9 Hurricane. (1 Boston destroyed on the ground)
Another 32 Nell and 24 Betty attacked from Kendari, without escort. I lost 1 Nell and I destroyed 2 T.IVa on the ground. Very small damage to the airfield.
Since I've decided to invade Timor, I've to attack strongly the airfield to avoid air attack from there against my ships.

I tried a delib attack agains Clark Field to avoid hevy losses. [X(]
I've lost 1769 men against 703 allied. Anyway my eng reduced the fort to 6.

CHINA

He's finding the fighting with AVG, but I'm avoiding it. I don't want to loose too much pilots at this period. I can fight the AVG only with strong numbers of Zero, but all those type of Daitai are engaged elsewhere.

One of my surf TF attacked 1 AP and 1 AK at large, west of XXX, trasporting the Barisan Inf Rgt, probably to Australia or Timor. Both are sunk and the Regiment is lost: 1400 dead [:'(]
At Batavia, 4 enemy a/c destroyed. No jap losses.
On the other side, 5 Betty lost over Sorebaya. Where were my Zero??? [&:]

Timor: today began the landing at Koepang and Dili.
Batavia: Adi reinforced the fighter defense. Today I shot down 6 fighters, loosing 2 Zero.


BURMA

The air situation over there is really worsting every day. I don't have, at the moment, enough planes to stop the allied raids against Mandalay and Rangoon. Maybe it's better to withdrawn the few that I have there because they don't have any chance to fight with success and I register loss every day.
I've decided to withdrawn the troops that were marching to Akyba. Now they return to Rangoon. It's very difficult to advance in this area, and until most of my troops are engaged in Malaya I can't go anywhere.

Java: today I landed in Pamakasan. This is the first landing in Java.
Over Batavia I lost 1 Nell; 8 dutch a/c destroyed or shot down
Timor: Koepang and Dili have been captured. Only Lautern remains in allied hands.

NEW GUINEA

Over P.M. my pilots did a very good job today: 7 Wirraway shot down and 9 Hudson destroyed on the ground. Non jap losses. It's very good, because the second attempt to land in P.M. is underway. Operation Sho-1 started yesterday and the convoys are en route. This time the KB is presents to defend them. I have an open account with Enterprise. [8D]

Just make sure to smash PM before KB get's too close, LBA is murder on CVs. At least that's been my experience.

Today is a bad day for my subs. 1 heavy damaged near Australia and 1 near Noumea.
After the conclusion of Operation Sho-1 I'll go with KB to smash again the allied DD fleet.

Pamakasa captured by my troops.

At Clark Field a shock attack didn't have success: 1865 casualties on my side, against 542 allied.

MALAYA

Finally Johore Bahru has been captured by a shock attack with 15:1 odds.
I suffered 1223 casualties vs 1584 of the brits.
Now some days of rest for my troops and then the big pie, Singapore.



SW PAC

Gili-Gili captured.
Operation Sho-1 begin to enter in the hot phase, and the 2. Coral Sea Battle began.
Aircraft of the KB attacked PM and shot down 4 Wirraway.
87 bombers coming from Rabaul destroyed 2 more Wirraway and, important, 7 Hudson on the ground. Runway hit by 34 bombs. Intel says Alfd damage is 67.
The convoys are 2 days away.

It has been the turn of Enterprise. His aircraft attacked and were engaged by my Zero.
Anyway 21 SBD and 10 TBD attacked and scored several hits:
- 2 bombs hit Zuikaku (1 below the deck, with fuel explosion) (Sys dam 20, Flt 7, Fire 31. I'm a little worried about the fire, the jap were not so good to fight the fires)
- 3 bombs hit Hiryu (Sys dam 24, no flt)
- 1 bomb Soryu (Sys dam 11, no flt)

The problem is that the allied bombs were all of 1000 kg!!!

Another allied CV attacked Shoho and hit her with 8 bombs. Why my recon didn't spot her? [:@] (Sys 64, Flt 35, Fire 42). She's on the way back to Rabaul)

The KB counter attacked.

SW PAC

After the 2nd Battle of Coral Sea, the Operation Sho-1 enters is in a delicate phase. The transport are closing to PM.
And today I paid the first toll to the allied SS. 1 AP torpedoed and sunk.
At PM afld I destroyed 6 Hudson and 2 Beaufort. Adi is trying to concentrate there what he can do to stop my invasion, but this time he wont stop me.
The Emperor ordered to fight to the last men during this operation.
The a/c of KB attacked 1 AP and 1 MSW in PM port and hit them hard.
Others planes continued the job initiated yesterday and hit with 26 bombs the CA Canberra. Oviously the ship is sunk.
The a/c took-off also from Zuikaku, (sys 25, flt 10, no fires). Anyway I'll send the CV to Japan for some repairs after the operation Sho-1 will end. Tomorrow the CV Junyo will enter in service and she will take her place.

CVL Shoho is 5 hexes from Rabaul and she is sys 73, flt 42, fires 16.

Dutch planes from Batavia attacked 2 AP in Singkawang. Both ships are heavy damaged.
Landing at Lautern, the last base to occupy in Timor. Also the TF there is attacked, but no score by the allied a/c.

NEW GUINEA

The landing at Port Moresby began today. The first troops landed during the night and the landing is continuing during the day. The reaction from the coastal defense is not so strong as I expected.
Adi has transferred there all the a/c that I could find. My planes attacking from Rabaul destroyed Baeufort, T.IV, Hudson, Catalina.
There are also at least 14 SS in the area, hunting for my ships.
In Port Moresby the DD Alden and MSW Lismore tried to defend the port. The MSW has been sunk and the DD badly damaged by the escort.
In Port Moresby he has only the PM Def Inf Bde, the 30. AUS Inf Bde and the 112. ENG RAN B.F. It should be not too hard to occupie the base.
KB attacked ships in Cooktown, sinking 1 AK


SINGAPORE

I started to bomb Singapore, to burst his suplly. Maybe I'll conquer the city by starvation.

Today I captured Lautern and the whole Timor is now in my hands.


JAPAN

The CV Junyo entered in service today. I'll send her, as escort, to north. I've decided to form a small invasion TF to land in Kiska, but I have to discover what Adi has there.

NEW GUINEA

The operation Sho-1 continue. The landing in Port Moresby proceeds.
Reading the e-mail of Adi, I understand that the surprise was complete. My attack in Noumea area days ago with KB, during which I sunk a lot of DD, convinced him that I had the intention to land there. Because of this conviction he sent his CV south of Port Moresby, to attack the back of my invasion fleet. I thought that KB was ahead, and the transport followed it. So I wanted to attack the transport from the rear.
I attacked Noumea exactly to confuse him and I wanted to let him think that the real objective was Noumea. I thought that he would have sent his CV in this area to contrast the invasion and not in the south of New Guinea. This has been really a lucky decision for me. I found his CV with my KB and I sunk them both.

DD Alden, damaged yesterday at PM sunk today. Also the AP Empire Pride sunk, with 2622 casualties and 36 guns (maybe and Inf unit). Also SS S-39 has been sunk.

At PM I would like to try immediately a shock attack, but my units are too fatigued. I have to wait, but it's tough. [8|]

CVL Shoho, with sys 75 and flt 55, his one day from Rabaul. She's safe.


BURMA

He attacked Mandalay afld with 43 Blenheim and 14 Boston. I don't have enough fighters to contrast them. I think that I have to withdrawn to south to avoid stupid casualties.

SINGAPORE

Today I gave the order to my units to advance, from Johore, to Singapore.

NEW GUINEA

18 Liberator attacked PM today for the first time. 1 shot down (1 Zero of Lae in LRCAP also) and no damage.

All the troops on the transport have been unloaded.

Another shock attack at Clark Field resulted in a massacre. Now I'll stop for a while. I would like to speed up a bit in the PI to free some units but I really don't know how.
Suggestion welcomed.

One of my TF bombarded PM tonight.
The Liberators comes again over PM and hit 2 of my AP with one bomb each.
This turn I'll try a shock attack.


SINGAPORE

My troops arrived at Singapore today and launched immediately a shock attack, reducing the fort from 4 to 2. This was even better than I hoped.
