I've transferred at Mandalay 36 Oscar that, today, shot down 5 Blenheim, and damaged 17. No losses for me.

NEW GUINEA

My troops launched an attack against Port Moresby, reducing the fort from 3 to 1

MALAYA

Another assault against Singapore, reduced the fort to 1. The end of the brits fortification is near.

Sit Rep of 3/4/42

This is a great day for the Japan Empire.

MALAYA

After only 3 days of battle, the imperial army of Japan conquered Singapore, capturing 61'890 prisoners.
Now my troops and my air squadrons need some days of rest. After that I will concentrate on Java.

BURMA

24 Oscar intercepted a total of 34 Blenheim, 5 Boston and 8 Buffalo over Mandalay.
Only 1 Buffalo shot down. [:(]

AUSTRALIA

At Darwin I shot down 5 Hurricane today, whitout loosing a plane.

SW PAC

After refuelling, the KB sailed toward central Coral Sea and attacked an allied ASW TF, east of Cairns. DD Van Ghent and 2 MSW are sunk. One other MSW badly damaged.

One of my SS sunk north of Rabaul. He was badly damaged days ago.

At Port Moresby I reduced the fort to 0. I hope the base will fall tomorrow.

After Singapore, Port Moresby occupied

Post by George Patton »

Sit Rep of 4/4/42

BURMA

My Oscar shot down 2 Buffalo and 1 Boston over Mandalay. No losses.

PI

Since a couple of weeks I'm bombarding very hard Clark and Manila. I'll continue until reinforcement will arrive from Singapore and after the capturing of Java. I hope to reduce the strenght of the allied defender.

NEW GUINEA

Another great day for the Japan Empire. Port Moresby has been conquered today by the glorious japanese forces. The allied defender fleed into the jungle. They will maybe organize as guerrilla, but most probably they will die for starvation.

SINGAPORE

With the city, I conquered 67000 fuel and over 40000 supply. Not bad. [:D]
The airfield will open tomorrow. I have now the 1. Avn Regiment unloading.

Sit Rep of 3/6/42

JAVA

TF Kongo bombarded Soerabaja, causing 440 casualties.
Good day over Batavia: 6 Hawk 75 shot down, 1 Demon destroyed. No losses.$

Australia

3 Hurricanes shot down at Darwin. Every day I shot down some of this fighters but they still on air.
KB is on transit between New Guinea and Australia. Today the planes sunk an AP, N of Cooktown.

Indian Ocean

This is really a surprise. West of Sumatra, the TF with CVE Taiyo and BB Mutsu has been attacked by 18 Swordfish. I really don't know where my Zero were, because not one of the CAP took-off. [&:]
As result Taiyo took 1 torpedo and Mutsu 2. [:@]
The 8 Vals on board attacked the enemy TF, composed by CV Indomitable. No score. Only 3 Fulmar shot down and 1 Val lost.
This engagement proved again that the japan CVL or CVE are really useless when they are alone.
The Taiyo is at sys 13 and flt 13, but Mutsu is at sys 36 and flt 46. It will be hard to go back to port with both the capital ships. The thunderstorm forecasted for the next day will maybe help.

DEI

Sumatra: I'm unloading new reinforcement at Palembang, since the troops presents are not capable to conquer the base.
Java: over Batavia was a disaster today. 2 Nell and 2 Betty shot down.

SW PAC

An Oz MSW, the Cairns, damaged by KB two days ago, sunk today. Same destiny for SS Sturgeon at Brisbane.

BURMA

I set the Oscar to CAP at 39000 ft to stop the air offence coming from India. 2 Blenheim shot down, 5 damaged and only 2 hit on airport. No losses for me. It's better than in the previous attacks.

CHINA

I have to reinforce the garrison because Adi has ammassed over 200'000 men there, and I have onyl 120'000.

NORTH PAC

I started with operation Orange, the invasion of Kiska I., in the Aleutinian Is. My recon didn't tell me what Adi has there. The cover for the invasion TF is assured by the CV Junyio. I'll be very carefull and I'll be ready to withdrawn if I'll see big troubles.

INDIAN OCEAN

I've lost the track of the enemy TF leaded by CV Indomitable. The TF Taiyo is heading in direction of Malacca Strait. The BB Mutsu is sys 40 and flt 50, CVE Taiyo sys 15 flt 13. The TF speed decreased to 12 kt. I have the possibilitie to detach Mutsu (12 kt) and escort her with a couple of DD, and let the CVE (17 kt) go back quickly to Singapore, but I don't want to loose the Mutsu. I've decided to risk and, anyway, the air group of Taiyo is ready to fight.

Operation Orange Flower

Post by George Patton »

Sit Rep of 3/8/42

During the night SS I-22 hit with one torpedo CA Pensacola. off Noumea, let him on fire. I think he will be out of action for several weeks. I-22 is badly damaged.
SS Tarpon, damaged days ago, sunk today, off he E coast of Australia.

CHINA

About the garrison to reinforce, I forgot to tell the name. Is Changsha. [8D]

INDIAN OCEAN

The Taiyo TF has reached Sabang. The CV is sys 15, flt 7. She will stay at port for a month. BB Mutsu is sys 42, flt 53. She will be out for several months.

I was just about to ask you that! [:)]

When you have a chance, could you post a screenshot of the DEI? Particularly in the south? I've lost track a bit on where you are & where he is.

I'm rooting for you here. But I think you're in trouble in your Dai Toa Senzo game! [;)]

Hi Chuck.

Yes, in out game I'm a bit in trouble. For this reason I play the turn with Adi and tomorrow evening, when I'll have more time, I'll concentrate on our game. I cannot do mistake anymore. [:-]

But now, the sit rep of 3/9/42

BURMA

My Oscar are doing well again, today. Only 1 loss, and 5 Blenheim and 1 Buffalo shot down, and only 2 hits on the afld.

ALEUTINIAN

CV Junyo attacked Kiska base. 1 MSW sunk and 2 AK hit hard. 2 AK there meaning that is reinforcing the garrison. Maybe it's definitely better to land in Attu. It seems to be desert there. And the recon detect 5500 troops in Kiska. Too much for my expeditionary force.

DEI

BB Mutsu is at 42/55 but I should reach Singapore without problem now.
At Singapore I'm loading the units that will land in various place of Java, in combination of those coming from Borneo.
It's a lot of troops, but I want to close the match asap.
KB is en route to Borneo to refuel and to support the landings.

Here is the picture of the DEI still in allied hands.

Report of 3/10/42

NE of Attu, CV Junyo attacked again the 2 survivors AK of yesterday. One is sunk ant I think the hour for the other will come soon.
My troops started to land on Attu.

SW PAC

I spotted several movement arounf New Caledonia.
One TF N of Koumac, with 2 BB and 3 CA, another TF W of Noumea with 2 CA and 1 DD and several other transport TF. I suppose that is planning to invade something in the area. Maybe Lunga. I've alerted all my planes in the area. The nav recon is setup at max.
He has only 1 CV to cover the operation, so the I'm not so worried.

DEI

In Singapore all the troops are loading onto transport ships. I think that Java will be japanese in two weeks.

The only important fact of the day is the retreat of the two mongolian division from Lanchow, due to a chinese shock attack. The two units are now marching toward Tabun-Nur. They have been never be capable to conquer Lanchow.

For the rest nothing much to say. Tayio is a couple of day from Singapore. BB Mutsi is at sys 42 and flt 60. We should reach the port.

At north, the inf is landed and now is ready to conquer Attu.

BURMA

In Mandalay my Oscar are performing very well. No losses today and 3 Blenheim shot down.

AUSTRALIA

P-40 arrived in Darwin to support the air defense and the Hurricane. Today I've lost 1 Zero and 1 Nell, and I shot down 1 Hurricane and 1 P-40B

DEI

Dutch planes coming from Batavia tried to attack one of my TF that is heading to Palembang with reinforcement. Zero in LRCAP shot down 2 Demon. One bomb hit one AK.
Today I'll try again to conquer Palembang.

ALEUTINIAN

The allied AK survived days ago, sunk today due to the heavy damages.

SW PAC

The enemy TF coming from New Caledonia is now S of Rennel I. Recon said it's formed by 7 CA. I think it's not true. Anyway my aviation is now ready to fight. Thundestorm is gone.
Today my troops occupied Attu. Now I can start to build an airport.

SW PAC

What seemed to be a big enemy surface TF, was a... big enemy surface TF (4 CA and 5 CL)
The ships arrived at night at Lunga and bombarded the island, causing 545 casualties and a lot of damages.
During the day it was raining, so no air attacks agains them.

From PM I load the 3. Kure on to ships. I want to occupy Thursday I.

AUSTRALIA

Today, over Darwin, 7 Hurricanes and 26 P-40 waited for my aircrafts.
My pilots shot down 6 P-40B and 4 Hurricane. I lost 2 Zero and 1 Nell.
I transfer more Zero to Amboina to fight the P-40.

DEI

The new attack at Palembang failed again.
Now I transfer the 4. Mix Rgt from Singapore. I'm loosing too much men there.

100 days of war

Post by George Patton »

Report of 3/15/42

For the 99th days of war there is nothing much to report.

In PI my attacck to Clark reduced the fort to 5. I still have a long job to do there.

In SW Pac I've sent one small TF to occupy Thursday I. She's nokw 2 hex away.

It's really a quiet period. My troops are preparing the equipment for the invasion of Java and are waiting for the arrive of KB. She's a bit short of fuel so she's coming slowly.

PI

Fort at Clark Field has been reduced to 4.
At Manila I also attacked and the fort has been reduced to 0.

DEI

Another airport is operative in Bali from today. I placed there some recon planes. When the size will reach 4, I'll place also some bombers.

Soviet Activation!!! Suggestion welcomed.

Post by George Patton »

Report of 3/17/42

Oh, I didn't check the Garrison point for a while. I needed some troops to stop Adi's advances in China and I transferred some units from Manchukuo. So I dropped below the 8000 points I suppose, because now the Soviets are active.

I have now to replan the whole campaign. I was confident that I could achieve a victory in 1943, the points are now 14292 for Japan and 5433 for the allied, and I still have to conquer Manila, Clark, Java and part of Sumatra.
Now it will be very difficult but not impossible.

Every suggestion about how to handle with the soviets is welcomed.[&o]

War in URSS

Post by George Patton »

War in URSS

Okay. I made a disaster, now I have to live with it. [8D]

My action plan agaisnt URSS is the following:

1 hex E of Mutanchiang, just at the border with URSS, I have:

- 11. Inf Div
- 57. Inf Div
- 1. Mix Bde
- 7. Mix Bde
- 8. Heavy Arty Bde
- 7. Eng Rgt
- 27. Eng Rgt
- 17. Const Bn
- 48. Road Cnst Bn
- 53. Heavy AA Bn

For a total of 1435 AP. All the units have 100 PP for Uglahamensk. They are not on the short road to the objective but they will start marching today.

At the crossroad at SE, I spotted 8 units. I'll do further recon to have more info.
At Uglahamensk I don't know what the soviets have. I also ordered recon.
But to have better info, I send immediately, from Mutanchiang, the 10. Tank Rgt. The only thing that I know for sure is that he has an Eng B.F..

At Vladivostok my recon spotted 188 fighters and 195 aux a/c. Is there that I will concentrate the major air attack.

On Sakhalin, the Karafuto Inf Mix Bde, will march towards Okha.

In the north I'll hold the position until further info about soviet intention.

Report of 3/18/42

AUSTRALIA

I've transferred more Zero in Amboina to attack Darwin.
Today I lost 2 Zero and I shot down 6 Hurricane and 6 P-40.

URSS

Today I tried a first attack against Vladivostok with 23 Sally, 27 Mary, 34 Ann and 42 Nate.
It has been a massacre!
I've lost 8 Sally, 15 Mary, 25 Ann and 35 Nate! [:@][:@][:@]
I've shot down only 6 I-16, 2 MiG-3 and 1 LaGG-3.

Same result against Khabarovsk. I lost 9 Sonia, 5 Sally and 18 Nate vs 1 SB-2 destroyed on the ground.

This give me a result of 115 planes lost in 1 day [:@]

I really need some good fighters there. Zero and Oscar must be transferred immediately, otherwise the war in URSS will end before it begins.[:@][:@][:@][:@]

PI

Okay, one good news. The fort at Manila has been reduced to 0.

That's all for today, but has the things goes, I think it's better.

Be aware that the Mig-3 is a very good interceptor. You will need your crack zeros to engage them and you will also need to outnumber them. Russia has a quite big air force and zeros and nates are just cannon fodder even for the I-16s....

Thanks for the infos. I'm grouping some Daitai of Zero but before I have decided to invade Java and to close the game there. With the forces that I have in Singapore I think it's just matter of days.
