Just this week, the NCAA suspended all three referees from a Duke - Florida State basketball game for poor/dishonest/bribed/otherwise idiotic officiating. Granted, it was only a one-game suspension, but I agree with most of the comments above about lousy officiating in sports so I was happy to see that finally there was some officiating of the officiators. [:)]

I can't stand Duke so it was even more gratifying.[:D]

The only call I disagreed with in the Bowl was the touchdown early on that was allowed to stand. I didn't think the ball crossed the plane, but hey.... I didn't really care who won anyway.

I didn't think the calls were bad, both teams played horribly though. Seahawks looked to be shoe-ins after the first half, they just had to keep playing like they had and get back into the lead. However as the game progressed it seemed that the Steelers were getting better and the Seahawks were getting worse. It was kinda odd, I felt that both teams didn't even deserve to be in the Superbowl, let alone win it.

Steelers made way too many mistakes and Seahawks couldn't get anything done after the halftime. Calls only exasterbated the situation IMO.
Yamato, IMO the best looking Battleship.

The calls were terrible......Rothburger head didn't get in the end zone.....that "offensive" pass interference was bullsheit...and i saw one big unnecessary roughness call by Pittsburg's "hair guy" right in front of a ref who did zippo. oh but hassleback was called for a penalty for trying to tackle his interception. ok. [8|]

Seahawks still might have lost given the mistakes they made, but the calls didn't help. Pretty disgusting. Ugly game all around. Even Buffalo played better their first trip.

deja vu

ORIGINAL: Terminus

Why would it be surprising that the umpires were bad?
Nothing better than watching a Non-North American rules Non-Australian rules football player flopping around on the ground after being touched trying to get a penalty shot. What is the percentage of FIFA goal scored in penalty shot or penalty kick? By the way there is only 1 umpire per game in North American football.
