Flotation damage only repaired, can only work on one ship at a time.

Can Japan have ship withdrawals?
Then you could model the Bordeaux runs, must sail to on map location, no enemy air superiority, minimum damage.
1. Thats a good idea. I've been debating how to do model them.
2. Not sure if Japan can have ship withdrawals. I'll check

Type-NLT tankers have an conversion option to Ditmarchen AO, I assume that is not intended.

Type-NLT AO and Type-1 TL AO classes are missing upgrade options, compared to the Shiroteko-class AO that has two possible upgrades with the last one gaining a radar.

Happy to help, I like the design of this mod and NGT very much.

Is there anything specific you want people to look for when playing?

Tsukushi-class could be more accurately represented by Shimushu-class without DC and carrying a Glen if possible.

In game the G8N1 Renzan is a 2 engine aircaft with service rating 5,I assume not intended.

These tankers are missing from the Allied database, can either add them to that side or give them as incentives to Japan for those locations.

TK Choran Maru ex-Ruthenia (in Japanese database) was captured in Singapore,
TK Enoshima Maru ex-Ebonol(in Japanese database) was refloated in Hong Kong,
TK Hosei Maru ex-Poseidon (in Japanese database) was refloated in Tjilatjap.
TK Yosei Maru ex-Josefina (in Japanese database) was refloated in Soerabaja.

If the intent is to give options to the Modified Circle 5 Plan that came after Midway then allowing the second Ōyodo-class CL Niyodo should be an option, she was to be built in the same slipway after Ōyodo was lauched.

Same with the second Ibuki CA, likely name was Kurama and the Ikoma-class CV would have been Kaimon instead.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ibuki-cla ... ed_cruiser

Major limitation of the engine is that Yamato and Musashi take a lot of yard space at game start even if they had been launched.

I understand it is an abstraction but partly it is not, you could build 2 Unryū CVs where you build 1 Yamato BB, at least that was the plan in Yokosuka when they considered cancelling Shinano.

Thanks for the support! To answer your 'intent' question below, it's to provide (1) as much detailed accuracy as possible within the engine's abstractions/limitations, and (2) realistic options to shape the military forces; e.g. choices that were historically considered. As far as things to look for - nothing specific, every bit helps.

CS Mizuho should have floatplane capacity of 24.

CS Nisshin had 12 floatplanes and 6x14 cm/50 3rd Year Type naval guns.

Surprised you went so far with Yamatos as give her at the historical date, I was thinking you would damage her and Musashi to be fitted out or something.
¨
Maybe lower the crew experience? Shinano has 65/50, that seems about right.
I am a bit worried about allied reactions, Force Z aint what is used to be for sure. :D

EDIT. With the old BBs at 60/65 =50/55 for new BBs would be logical?

3. The Southern Army Assuming Command and the Employment
of Its Air Arm

The Chain of Command of the Air Arm of the Southern Army

The Southern Army Headquarters Was Provided with the Trappings of an Air Corps
Headquarters

As mentioned previously, for committing the main force of the Army Air Service to the southern operation it was, in view of the vast operational front, natural to assume that two or more
numbered air forces would be necessary.
As the strategic value of the air arm increased, the tendency in military aviation at that
time was to employ it in a way as concentrated as possible so as to bring its special qualities
into full play. In order to employ two or more numbered air forces in a unified way, it was
natural to set up a headquarters [on the level of] an air corps (later: air army) as the higherranking headquarters. However, at that time, there was only one air corps headquarters,
which was in Manchuria, and in terms of [the Army’s] policy against the North, it was impossible to transfer this headquarters [to the South]. Moreover, the number of commanders
and staff officers familiar with aviation was too small to establish a new air corps headquarters, let alone that it usually required some time before a newly established headquarters
could fully function.
In the end, it was decided to adjust the composition of the Southern Army headquarters
so that it could also serve as an air corps headquarters.
The main points were to put in a [second] vice chief of staff exclusively in charge of the air arm, and set up an independent aviation
section, which would comprehensively deal with the operations, intelligence, rear [support]
and facilities related to the air arm. The main purpose was to employ the air arm in a way
that suited its specific nature.(39, 91)
A Southern Army headquarters with an aviation specific function had already been in
preparation since October. On 5 November, General Terauchi Hisaichi was personally appointed commander in chief by the Emperor, and the formation of his headquarters was completed on the 13th of the month.

CVL Ryūhō started her conversion December 20 1941, logically she should be treated as the optional CS conversions, just a little faster.
On a personal note I never build her and see more value in an AS and I often dont build the Yamatos but now I will and that is more historical than what the game now forces you to do.

Ryūhō in game completion date 28 November 1942 is her historical delayed launch date caused by the Doolitle Raid, she was nearly completed in April 18 when hit.

So the in game yard queue situation is post April 1942 Doolittle Raid and post Midway September 1942 Modified Circle 5 Plan.
The game build queue should combine these historical plans from 1941 to 42 and let the player and strategic situation decide what is needed or possible.
Basically more plans and ships than possible to build as it historically was.

Removing Yamato and Ryūhō in December 1941 frees up 280 NavSY points.

I dont know if the NavSY should be damaged and repaired for game balance or allowed to be used.

If you damage the at start NavSY and Kure and Yokohama to compensate for removing Yamato 233 + Ryūhō 47= 280 from the queue that is 134+95=229 so frees only 51 NavSY points at start.

The need to build up Tokyo to 50 RepSY to do conversions balances it also.

Singapore RepSY is too low, should be increased but start partly damaged.

The floating dry docks should arrive in Singapore and become strategic targets for the Allied.

On 15 February 1938, at the official opening of the Royal Navy Base at Seletar, Singapore, the King George VI (KG6) graving dock (drydock) also was unveiled. She was the largest dry dock in the world at almost 1,000 feet in length, 130-feet (40 m) wide and 35-feet (11 m) deep. KG6 could accommodate the British Royal Navy Dreadnought class battleships, the largest capital naval ship of the time for resupply or repairs.
KG6 was one of the naval base’s two main dry docks, the other being the 50,000-ton concrete Admiralty IX floating dry dock, anchored in the Straits of Johore. The Admiralty IX completed by Swan Hunter in England in 1929, the third-largest dry dock in the world at the time. [1]

The British also purchased the 5,000 ton Admiralty X floating dry dock from the Dutch East Indies in November, 1939. Built in the Netherlands 1924 and moved to the Naval Base Singapore, this smaller drydock was to be used by cruisers and destroyers, so that the larger drydocks would be available for any capital ships.

With the impending capture of Singapore by the Imperial Japanese Army in 1942, the King George VI dry dock gates were blown off and machinery destroyed. The dock was subsequently repaired and used throughout the war. There was also a floating crane nearby.

On 24 February 1942, the former Royal Navy Base at Seletar was taken over by the Imperial Japanese Navy. Both floating dry docks had been scuttled by the British, but were raised and re-used by the Japanese. The IJN No. 101 Naval Construction and Repair Departmentt was established under Rear Admiral/Eng, (later Vice Admiral) Akasaka Isao (21) who was appointed as its prospective Director on 15 December 1941 and then served from February 1942 to 1 May 1943. The No. 101 Naval Construction and Repair Department had a staff of officers (engineers, technical and administrative staff), naval ratings and uniformed technicians.

Comments: Built in 7 sections for the Admiralty & to be based at their Singapore Dockyard
Capable of lifting 55,000 tons (disp) vessels such as the largest battleships of the day

1942: Scuttled before the fall of Singapore to Japanese forces
Raised by the Japanese for their own use at Singapore

01/02/1945: Bombed and sunk by Allied aeroplanes

Thanks for all the info. I'll add these to my development queue for the next update. I'm still exploring different ship conversion options - and there's lots of space in the editor files still for more ships and ship classes.

Happy to pitch in, with naval builds you enter dangerous waters regarding game balance.

I think a tool with graphic representation of the available naval yards and what was there at what time historically would help balance it with the game engine limitations.

Similar with the repair yards, they partly overlap, NavSY captured by allies convert to RepSY, those allied ports that historically where captured by Japan only have RepSY.
I am trying to find the total historical capacity of Singapore dry docks, at Sorebaja it was little over 20.000 ton and the RepSY is 20..

Hong Kong seems close but could be little over, the biggest dry dock was civilian, little over 10.000 tons, but was used by the Royal Navy and naturally IJN.
The largest military dry dock in Hong Kong was a bit smaller so a bit under 10.000 tons.
