The enemy went through my lines in force near Lucca on the western coastline.
And only advanced towards my lines near Firenze.

The enemy AI counterattacked my 51st mountain corps offensive, but the troops it has there are way to light.

Near the eastern coastline the enemy established a bridgehead.

On the western coast I counterattacked and planned to use reinforcements to build up a line higher north. The counterattack did not succeed. Damn that allied tankdestroyer which managed to hold off my panzers! :(
So I send as much reinforcements as I could.

The 51st mountain corps failed to do a succesfull attack near the bridge to Firenze and my line there is getting thin.
But on the southern part of the front the 51st mountain corps destroyed the enemy forces holding the line there. The road to Arrezo seems open!

So at the end of turn 6 I have no reserves left anymore, I committed them all. Except my little production that is.

On the other hands I think I have a solid force in the mountains between Firenze and Bologna, the 51st Mountain Corps is actually advancing on Aruzzo and I just kicked back the allied AI over a river near Rimini.

Kind regards,
Vic

The western and eastern sector don't develop too well, huh? I don't know anything about how those games can develop, but that western front would make me say "Okay, I lost ..." [8D]

By the way, I finally have to ask ... what are those unit counter symbols that look like ... um, I don't even know how they look like ... I mean the ones that are marked in the map in post #5. I'd guess mortars? [&:]

You don´t think these unit icons look like mortars ?
I think that are very sweet icons and they look like mortars.
With the limited room (for the unit symbol) available i think it´s a
amazing work compared to the earlier versions.

This is a AAR i wrote one year ago.
Me playing the germans vs Vic´s russians. Great fight.
As a active reader of the PT-Forum you should know that ;-)
Here you can see the very early graphics for tanks, artillery and so on. And you´ll see how much better
the actual ones are. Hehe, maybe you´ll recognize the mortars, too.

Gents,

have anybody heard of the US Chemical mortar battalions in the WW2 ?[:D]

This game have abstractions it do not have detailed OOB. If you want that there are other games to try!
War does not determine who is right - only who is left.

all this is very exiting: are you going to spear into enemy territory or roll up the front? I'll just have to wait and see
