I don't think so but you can put it on the modders wishlist for consideration by Elliot

Not at present, Koth. It's already on the modders masterlist so hopefully we'll get this ability at some point. [:)]

thanks again
actually ive got some stuff i noticed in game, maybe theyve been noticed before if so apologies
and for the wish list stuff...

1)i noticed in Distant Worlds without the expansion you could send spies to steal research without specifying what tech you wanted to steal, was this dropped in the expansion? because i kind of liked that option

2)is it possible for the automation to send more than one spy on the same kind of mission against the same empire?

3) in the ship design window, i noticed that some race "special components" become obsolete, even though they may be better than the alternative, maybe an option to flag them so they stay in the component window (ie i had the megaton shields tech maxed but the shield got made obsolete by maxed out meridan shields that werent as good, also the mega dense fuel store that hold 140 fuel, got made obsolete by one that held only 100 fuel) ps i know about the check box for revealing obsolete tech
this also changes the aforementioned shields and fuel store unit in the ship design when you click the upgrade button, the megaton shields/mega dense fuel store were replaced by inferior replacements because they had a higher research value

4)in the ship design screen, is there a way of removing all of one component instead of many click (ie if you had 30 shields, one click removes them all option)

errr... i hope this all makes sense to someone other than me :-p

It does make a lot of sense, don't worry. Let's see

1) No, it's still there

2) Here I hope someone else will pitch in as I've never let in on auto. Or you can fire a game on 4x speed to ckeck it

3) Yes, this is wishlisted already as it was noticed by many of us as well.

4) No, not yet. This is requested as well

quick reply and thanks for the info Data

1) strange i cant do it, i choose the victim, the steal research option, the time of the mission, but if i dont choose a tech to steal i cant assign the mission, and outta curiosity, does choosing a long time just increase the chance of success or does it affect how much research you steal?

2) left on auto it only seems to do one steal attempt against the same victim, doesnt seem to matter how many spies you have and if you change your policy to do just tech stealing, but im guessing itd probably be the same with each mission type

3 & 4) good, ill wait and hope for that too :o)

thanks again

it increases the chance of success, this should be displayed as a % on the same window, the % will change depending on the duration you choose

yeh thats what i thought, thanks again, and relax i think thats the end of my questions... for a while...

actually my mistake! i have something else for the wish list
sometimes stations blot out a planet,
when you click on a ship/station etc when theres another really close, you can choose what ship to interact with
maybe adding planets to the list of choices would sort this

ok really, thats it, now you can relax

indeed, sometimes they can do that and this is a good idea. Just to make sure, does it blot the planet even at the highest zoom level?
Now that you're relaxing.....it's my turn [:D]

When a space port completely blocks a planet so you can't click it, it works to zoom quite a lot out so that you can select the system (by clicking a little besides the star). You will then see the planets with bases/colonies in the info box, and can click the planet from there.

It can also be an issue with too many ships around, but at least they can be moved if yours.

in the info panel, when a planet is selected, you can select the SP for that planet.....but it doesn't work the other way around, maybe this should be possible also

aha! more handy info, im still learning as i go in the game, it probably helps when you read the in game help stuff, but i prefer the baptism by fire method (also known as sink or swim) :D
theres some other stuff... but im going to ask if theres a compiled com... err... wish list thread
make more sense for me to compile what i think are good suggestions/ideas and also see if their already there
anyways, thanks again
im going to shuffle off now and play the game some more ;o)
