Played through the tutorial, with the game being windowed I could have the manual and the game open on the screen at the same time so easy to follow and no need to print anything. Seemed to be pretty easy to grasp the basics of the system so went on to play the (recommended for beginners) scenario Djebel El Guessa. Made some mistakes but a quick read of the manual and I felt I had a fairly good grasp of the Postures, Off Board Artillery and the Command and Control system.
Just finished playing the Longstop Hill scenario and had a blast as the Allies - attack and the increasingly desperate defence of the German counter attack - just held on for a Draw at the end with the Northamptons and the Coldstream Guard holding on to Point 243 and Point 290, the Grenadier Guards were down to their last platoon and the Americans, having lost their armoured platoon when I stupidly decided to send it zipping across the battlefield straight past a Panzer Company, are holding on to Halte d'el Heri.
End of Game situation below (using the JMass map mod)
