are you sure it is a chin rad ? and not them wierd oil coolers ? depend on the angle, those coolers can look like a chin rad
I have only come across one 205 with a Chin Rad, and it was a rebuilt 202 (which they say the engine was changed, but it still have the pointed spinner,so am not sure, it does have the unlocking tail wheel, which makes it a even stranger pic, as the back half of the plane should of been pure 202)
(well, in one of our debates, we got pics of 109 E1's with 20 mm wingcannons, but stats say they didn't have them)
so yea, over all you were right on, but you were looking at Pic's, not the same as telling the difference in a fight
wait till you get into a fight with some Yaks and Laggs and 109's pull up and climb into the sun, and see at close range to each other a Yak 1, a Lagg 3 and a 109 F and you got time to pick your shot and tap the trigger
nose and tail will normally help you guess
LOL in Fighter Ace, I hated to bounce some SU planes, for what ever reason, I can not tell until very close what is a La-7 vs a IL-2 (very odd, as they are not even close in shape or size, wing layout even) but I swear I have been diving on a 7, calling to my mate, that I am about to bounce a 7 and start taking fire from the rear gunner (I normally knock him down, but it is still a shock, not to mention the fact when my mate calls back, that didn't look like no 7 I ever saw)
okay, what is this one, my plane should be easy after all the talk on chins, but what is my Polish buddy flying ?
if it don't jump out at you at first, look at the radio mast, if that don't help then the exsust (?) stacks should help
