RE: Firing Polititians

<t> Honestly, I like the idea articulated, consequences for firing leaders. If I had an election and dismissed a leader, there should be a serious unrest penalty or possibly breakaway faction. It would be cool if I dismissed a governor, his planet or series of planets go with him. Possibly same with ...

RE: Distant Worlds: Shadows

<t> I am actually interested in knowing how the release candidate is going. I have DW and both expansions and while not currently playing, eagerly looking to jumping back in when the expansion is released. The features, particularly improved ground combat - base capture - pre-hyperspace starts, is ...

RE: Your worst game tragedies.

<r> "attention to detail"...or an interesting programming choice. Seriously, the hexes are modeling like 60 miles per hex. Consider the circumstance. Offloading an RCT and supporting units into Tarawa under the range of LBAs. I could have had the Carriers a hex off and assigned one of the three ...

RE: Informal POLL Re: Oscar

<t> I am playing my first PBM as Japaneese against Terminus and I have a Squadron of Oscars in Burma in December that have tangled with the AVG and have registered 15 kills while losing about half of that number. Realize that they will get outclassed in mid 42 but they are doing fine for me at the ...

RE: Your worst game tragedies.

<r> ADHD. Heh, amusing.<br/>
<br/>
I imagine I will play it out. Fact of the matter is that I hung Terminus up for several months in Malaya and Phillipines and wrecked several of his divisions doing it and though I have only sunk 4 carriers and 1 of his Battleships, I seems like I have managed to ...

RE: Your worst game tragedies.

<r> Just suffered my worst tragedy in my current long running PBM (5months) this evening. May 1942 and invading the Gilbert Islands as Allied player with my remaining three Fleet CVs (lost two earlier in the Bismarck Sea). Fended off LBAs for a week covering the invasion, sunk two of Terminus's CVs ...

RE: How much time do you flush down the toilet on WitP?

I would say 1.5 - 2 hours a day. I am playing 2 PBEMs versus Terminus at the moment. As far as my wife is concerned, she allows me one bad habit and this is it :-)

Game Length...

Question: Just bought the game and noticed that the default scenario length in 1792 scenario is 72 months. At the end of 72 months, can I continue playing to 1820 and beyond or does the game just end? Can I mod the files to remove the time limit? Just curious.

SWPAC vs Australia Command?

<t> From the Uncommon Valor Days, everything north of Autstralia was either SOPAC or SWPAC. Now, looking at the map at the beginning of another PBEM, it occurs to me that New Guniea, Rabaul, and the other areas that were SWPAC in UC, is currently Australia Command. <br/>

PBEM Help...

<t> Need some help. Transferred both files to save folder. Ran witp001.pws and watched the replay. Then try to load witp002.pws and it loads half-way and asks me for a password. Did not type anything in and then hit OK like I did initially, and it sends me back to menu screen. I tried my CD Key ...

<t> Good Evening. <br/>
