RE: Axis Decisive Victory?

In the original game I took over the whole world by around 1960+ a number of times with Germany. I'm starting to get the impression that this is harder to do in AWD.

Axis Decisive Victory?

<t> In my last game I was surprised to see I got a Axis Decisive Victory even though the Allies actually won.<br/>
<br/>
This is my second full game, the first I won on normal, if I had continued that game I would have taken the whole world, but I just don't feel like it really counts unless you ...

Bombardment attacks on land units

<t> For some of the more experienced AWD players what is the most effective strategy for using these kind of attacks in combination with regular land units? <br/>
<br/>
It seems to me that artillary, air, and naval units just don't have the same effect they used to from the original game, I'm not ...

Game crashed

<t> I have the game updated to 1.010 and just this morning it crashed. After a battle I went to click on the combat review screen and it crashed. Hopefully its not s problem with the new patch, I didn't play it enough at version 1.0 to say if it was stable before than.<br/>
Whats funny is I played ...

Should I invade Hungary?

<t> To make sure that Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria would join the axis I made sure Yugoslavia was Allied leaning before attacking it. After the invasion Romania and Bulgaria both joined but Hungary didn't, it seems odd but I'll probably have to go back to the manual to check. Should I just invade ...

The details of Grand Strategy

<t> One thing I've always wondered about since the original WAW was how many divisions would one infantry or Armor unit count as. I know Gary Grigsby aims for realism in many of his games at least from the ones I've seen. <br/>
<br/>
I know this game is done from a large scale grand strategy point ...

What patch do I need for IL-2 FB?

I just got this game and I've noticed there's alot of patches, I'm at the retail version 1.0.
Is it the 1.0 to 1.22 patch? Also can anyone direct me to some good mods, thanks.

RE: Suggestions for a good fighter plane game?

<t> Well I was going to get IL-2 but for now I have to wait.&nbsp; How does a graphics card fan crack?&nbsp; I got a BFG Geforce 7800GT OC a year ago, booted up the PC this morning and I hear this load clanking sound turn off the computer open it up and the cards fan was cracked in the middle, I ...

RE: How much work was put into the new AI?

That was one problem with the first AI, not aggressive enough, on other hand if you play the AI more than once you will find that it is programmed for different strategies, even in the&nbsp;first game I would sometimes see the AI&nbsp;do things I never expected.

Suggestions for a good fighter plane game?

<t> I was wondering if the more experienced wargamers here would have a suggestion for a good fighter game especially based on WW2, I have a pc joystick that's collecting dust and thought it would be perfect for this type of game. I'm usually into strategy but flying fighter planes sounds pretty ...

RE: Question about in game video's

You should reactivate the videos, there's some new ones for Italy joining Germany and alot more. I personally like the in game cutscenes, it gives the game a more historical feel.

Modding the flag tga file

<r> I have a nazi flag mod from the original WAW and thought I could add it into the new version. I don't have much a of photo editor program but I used ms paint to cut the original German flag from the flag tga file and pasted the flag from the mod in it, put it in the game and no flags were ...

How much work was put into the new AI?

<t> It seems the AI is much better then in the first game, for example I've noticed the computer doesn't leave its transports unprotected spread all over the Atlantic anymore or not as much as it used to. The improved AI is one of the reasons I upgraded to AWD, I've always had a interest in AI. I do ...

RE: Question about in game video's

I confirmed that you have to take Western France to get the video, if you take Eastern France Vichy France is still formed along with ships being scuttled or retreating to England and everything works as intended except you have to march into Paris to get the video.

RE: Amphibious problem

I reread the rules last night and misunderstood. This is a very realistic change especially for the Germans since they had such a hard time with amphibious invasions plus this well make a sealion much harder even against the AI.

Question about in game video's

This might be a dumb question, but does the video play for the fall of France if you invade Eastern France instead of Western France? In my current game I took Eastern France and Vichy was created but I was expecting the video to come up.

RE: Amphibious problem

<t> I'm having the same problem when playing Germany against the AI in the 1939 scenario.<br/>
This seems to be a problem with Norway, I could move by air with a paratrooper but not by amphibious invasion. I tried the same move in the 1940 scenario and it worked fine, unless amphibious invasion has ...

Great improvement from the original

<r> I just got my cd the other day and this game is a huge improvement from the original. For those of you who have decided not to buy the game based on the fact there's no more combat animations I have to say you're really missing out, I too wished the combat animations were improved but that part ...

RE: Modding The Victory Conditions

I see you're point, thinking about it&nbsp;I don't think the US would have needlessly thrown more troops in to die at that point as Germany would have been to strong to defeat in a timely manner.
