RE: Any workarounds for the resolution "limit" on vista 64 ?

<t> On Windows 7 (64 bit) I had the same problem, but running in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP3 fixed it. I don't know if there is anything similar in Vista?<br/>
I just bought the game and was disappointed because I thought my large monitor would go to waste. Seeing such a big map is ...

RE: A debate on engines

<t> $20 price increase is a bad idea. I've previously argued for a lower price - simply because 50US$/60US$ is pushing away everyone but the most dedicated gamers, thus keeping the community and exposure to a minimum. I really do believe the price is hurting sales. Add in the lack of a demo, and you ...

I play COtA on a 24" widescreen - and it is indeed amazing.
I have a dream that someday I'll play it with a projector and a touchscreen :D

No, because I would prefer true 4:3 resolution i.e. 1280x960 at least for now when using 4:3 monitor. BTW, I am considering buying a widescreen TFT monitor with native resolution of 1680x1050. How does COTA scale on widescreen resolutions?

RE: Thoughts on the (un)success of CotA (long)

<r> For me, the one and only factor holding back my purchase was the price.<br/>
It is also the single factor that pretty much guarantees that <I><s></s>none<e></e></I> of my friends will buy COTA. With a lower price, there would be anywhere from 3-7 purchases among them.<br/>

If you want to buy an LCD you should weight the following, in order of importance:<br/>
<br/>
1. pixel interpolation<br/>
2a. color gamut<br/>
2b. contrast/brightness<br/>
3. response time<br/>
4. resolution in comparison to display ...

[:(] And just as my economy has hit the bottom [:@]
There is no way I'll be able to buy COTA for at least a month. At least that'll let me concentrate on school, and hopefully july will be rainy and the paycheck big.

Hopefully by that time the dreaded out of sync bug will have been fixed. But if not we intend releasing the game anyway. Economically we just cannot afford to hold off releasing COTA. The coffers are dry and we need to pay the rent.<e>
</e ...

<t> Hi... I'm really looking forward to CoTA (although I had hoped to see it done before christmas [;)] ). Just recently I stumbled upon a big pile of gold to buy me a 24" widescreen LCD (OK - I sold my firstborn to the bank), and I have been dreaming about playing CoTA on this beast. Optimally it ...

I am really interested in improvements to the map. I'm sorry but to me this is the one downside of HTTR, especially as you zoom in. Forests and such look like they are cut out and then placed on the map. Now the maps do what they are ...
