Re: Produced aircraft are not going into pool

DWatson60, all good points about R&D; admittedly EDBTR's current version is somewhat abstracted.

The Matrix version of the manual has not been updated since the initial 2009-2010 releases. However, the "what's new" document that comes updated with each patch is a must-read and an invaluable source ...

Re: Produced aircraft are not going into pool

You already achieved a breakthrough with the 219, which moves the availability date closer by one month. When the progress reaches 100% again, another breakthrough occurs and you move it closer by another month, and so on until your current turn month is the same as the new availability date. Then ...

Re: Produced aircraft are not going into pool

The changes in research were done by harley, and I left them alone. So It no longer makes sense to build 100's of aircraft to improve research. You build 10 and that's what the scientist guys play with. Getting to a research breakthrough is somewhat randomized but nothing is going to happen until ...

Re: Produced aircraft are not going into pool

You can produce airframes, parts, engines etc. for future aircraft. You only need to produce 10 complete aircraft (prototypes) for research purposes, and any more than that go to waste and will not show up in your pools.

This should have been fixed with the 1.06.91 beta patch, please try that out. https://forums.matrixgames.com/viewtopic.php?t=412594

Re: Beginner's enquiries

It sounds like you are figuring it out. An attack from a well placed patrol near the coast can cause the main escorts to jettison their tanks, and then you can effectively bounce the bombers with the FW's and Me410's deeper into Germany. That said, don't be too concerned about industry damage in ...

Best to read the production manual included with the game. It's in the "manuals" folder.

Re: DXWnd made easy

There are some good tips on this page: https://forums.matrixgames.com/viewtopic.php?t=333695&start=40
other suggestions:

Run dxwnd and just highlight the icon, then start the game from the normal game menu, or find btr.exe on your hard drive and run as administrator.

Make sure the path to the btr ...

Re: DXWnd made easy

If you can't get it to work through dxwnd you can start it up normally and toggle on "windowed" mode in the options and play it that way.

Instead of just declaring it broken, some additional information would be helpful. The OP has not responded to my latest query so maybe you will?

Re: DXWnd made easy

If you can get to the options menu, what happens when you toggle the "direct draw software emulation" button?

Toggle the option on, then restart the game as instructed. On relaunch the option is unchecked in the settings no change in artifatcing issue.

Re: beginner Axis

Try the new 1.06.91 beta patch I posted, most of the fixes were for the defender side. The official patch will be the same but it will be a full install version.

Your approach to moral and fatigue are about right. Fatigue, mostly, will get you in trouble during combat so don't be afraid to recall ...

EDBTR 1.06.91 patch (beta)

OK I did a complete scan on my machine this morning and it is clean. Uploaded and tested this version out and it is clean as well. This will update your install to 1.06.91 beta and will likely be identical to the final game version that is currently in matrix production. Replaces the btr.exe in the ...

Re: Unofficial EDBTR Database Editor Re-release

OK here is the editor with the first turn of the 1943 Campaign loaded. I got the messages to load but the time stamp of the messages is off by 25 minutes. and the mission tab doesn't load the types of missions. These are minor editor bugs that I'm not going to worry about for now. I think the big ...

Re: Unofficial EDBTR Database Editor Re-release

The development team is able to load a saved game using a passkey that was provided by Matrix several years ago. It was essential to have this feature so that we could finally balance out the fuel/oil supply features and other industry bugs. It's been a while since I loaded a saved game and for some ...

Re: Bugs? BoB 1940 campaign 1.06.83HFX1

Looking at this again you are right, there is a bug in the data, setting Boyd's stats to 0. I'll see if it's not too late to get this into the patch, otherwise I can post the new data as a hotfix. The problem with that is that you will need to start a new game. (I was looking at the group stats ...

Re: Bugs? BoB 1940 campaign 1.06.83HFX1

Hi,
Hmm, my F/L Boyd starts out with the proper stats for experience and command so I'm not sure what is happening there. Was he wounded and later returned to command? then that is a bug. Let me know.

The purpose of the replacement screen is to give the player an idea at-a-glance if his losses are ...

Yea the latest versions will probably work but you will really have to know what you are doing with the settings to get it right.
