RE: mantis

<t> OK thanks for that Bill. It's not feasible for me at the moment to leave the existing mantis system running, to do that would require rolling back the operating system on that server which I'm not prepared to do for security reasons and also because other things on that server require the new OS ...

<t> Hi,<br/>
<br/>
Is anyone still (or has been) using the EIA mantis server? I set this up some years ago as an interim solution while Matrix Games / Slitherine set up their own bug tracker. I haven't been able to contribute much but I did keep running the server.<br/>

Steam Key?

<t> Hi,<br/>
<br/>
I remember seeing this somewhere but can't find the link now -- I have a copy of the game (purchased long ago) and now I'm looking at getting some of the expansions through steam, but to do that I have to have a steam copy of WitE.<br/>

Can I take my existing product key ...

Enhancement Request: Army Orders

<t> Hi all, long time no post. I am just getting back into the game after a long absence.<br/>
<br/>
Here's an enhancement request. While playing some old board wargames there were a few (Jack Rader design) that had a useful feature. You could assign "orders" to your army level commands -- things ...

Bad German Surrender Rule

<r>
<QUOTE><s>[quote]</s>ORIGINAL: paulderynck<br/>
Nothing really - once it's at zero or worse the production is zero. But it can get to worse via the "double-dip" ruling on strategic bombing that was affirmed in the FAQ.

RE: Naval Bombardment

<t> The change that has been made in v.8 of the rules, which is quite a good one IMHO, is that there can only be the same *number* of ships shore bombarding as there are corps-sized land units in the side of the combat. i.e. if you are attacking with 3 corps, then only 3 ships can shore bombard. It ...

<t> The other thing that's been missed, apart from the probabilities, is the mongering of chits by the Soviets. If the Soviets are holding a large number of high numbered chits in their pool they can move them to the JP border and DOW Japan, thus releasing the chits to the USA for entry ...

<t> I have to admit to not being a big fan of the new oil rules.<br/>

They are simpler, but not that much simpler. The main issues I have are that you have to pay attention to oil in every impulse of a turn, not just at the end of a turn when you are reorganising. However the counting of ...

Erik,
Thanks for being honest. Given that my current status is "floating about on a boat in the Pacific" where there are very few WiF gamers, I'm going to need NetPlay. I would love to know when it's ready for general use. Keep up the good work.
