RE: Broadsword Torpedoes not fired on by PDB's

Are you sure the PDBS were set to auto fire or defensive on the weapons console? Other than that - yes, it's annoying.

RE: starship operation questions

I believe if you're within 5km of the jumping ship, you'll jump with it. Although usually if you're that close it's PD guns will be firing at you, so it's not such a good idea. ;)

I don't suggest fixes to these bugs explicitly because they're obvious.<br/>

<t> Hmmm. Unknown ship - they don't do anything. That I can tell they're no important to plot progress (though they do give you lots of points for the destroyable ones). You should be able to just leave it be. Eventually something should happen.<br/>

RE: how to set up a public server for the internet

<r> Big multi-million dollar studios can have pathetic support too whilst I've seen several Small independent types that have excellent support (I'm thinking <URL url="http://www.positech.co.uk/">http://www.positech.co.uk/</URL> here - another 1 person outfit).<br/>

RE: how to set up a public server for the internet

Well I've been on these forums for over a month and so far no real support from anyone associated with the game, apart from the odd post by the matrix guys which was for technical issues (most of which seem to remain unsolved).
So no - I'd say no support.

<r> Very well written Psycho.<br/>
But why try to recreate it? Why not try a new "episode" in the life of "$Rank Psycho and his continuing missions to rid the universe of Hegemony Scum". Just remember to do screenshots next time - you can pause the game at relevent times so as it doesn't get in the ...

<r> Yep - Though I much prefer the cap ships - fighters aren't done too well IMHO.<br/>
It is possible<br/>
Actually no. I use the keyboard to fly the fighters. Been so long since I've flown a fig I'd forgotten. It's not hard using the KB - Mouse was too tricky if I recall (using standard model ...

RE: Some noobie questions

<r> To answer the original questions:<br/>
<br/>
1) You can't change sensitivity - keyboards are digital - either on or off. You either roll or don't. Of course in theory you can change the _amount_ you roll but I don't think SS gives you that option.<br/>
<br/>
2) You can change controls in the ...

RE: crashes make game unplayable

Yet again I shall point out that the game works just fine (a little laggy in large battles) on a GeForce 440MX. The only real bug is planets turning yellow at times. Thus any newer cards shouldn't have any problems from a hardware side.
Drivers however.....

The problem with taking out carriers is that when they jump into another system, if there is an immobile object in that system, there's a very good chance they'll ram it and die before you can kill it ...

RE: Stuck in Firestorm

Did you get the carriers (Note: NOT a goliath class)? Killing one of them was what ended my campaigns. Otherwise you'll fly a bunch of empty missions for a while before it quits (I believe).
You can see enemy forces in the "forces" screen pre-flight.

<t> Well when I tried encom the enemy broadsword still started coming toward me at about 125km and torping me as soon he got within 100km (which meant instant death due to lack of shields). Also I had difficulty turning things on/off when at lower encom ratings. Thus I gave up on it and try the ...
