Re: Units marching to destination hex at game start

I actually marched it all the way from Prince Rupert, it arrived intact as it could draw supply (if barely) from bases on its way. It took much time though.

I did it to see if it would arrive eventually.

PS. I didn't know you could airlift restricted units if destination was also restricted ...

Re: Units marching to destination hex at game start

I noticed this first with the 1/153rd Infantry Battalion based at Seattle. The future objective is Whittier Alaska. The Destination hex is the same and it tries to march 1748 miles to get there.

Similar is the 11th Calvary at San Diego, It automatically starts marching to Santa Ana, which isn't ...

Configuration for New Computer

<t> FWIW<br/>

RE: Mine Warfare

<t> Yes. Definitely. Set all mines to stockpile. When you decide to arm a minelayer, turn stockpiling off for that type of mine, rearm it, then turn stockpiling back on. Only rearm a minelayer when you've decided to conduct a minelaying mission. Also, try to keep an ACM in your ports that have ...

RE: Non-combat experience

<t> Once Objective planning reaches 100, units can use training to increase in experience. Sometimes, it's better to leave the planning objective unchanged even when moving the unit elsewhere for low experience units. Experience from training is limited based on unit nationality. There's a table in ...

RE: Tender and Support/Auxillary Ship Guide

<t> I recently started a campaign game again as Allied player vs AI. The only time I have seen mines removed are by minesweeping and local minesweeping TF's without a patrol zone and React = 0. This does not preclude TF's with patrol zones working. The large majority of mine don't have patrol orders ...

RE: Air-Drop Troops

<r> There were only a few air transportable vehicles used in WWII, but they weren't any consequence. For instance, the 1/4-ton trucks like the Jeep. Little cargo capacity and little ability for sustained movement for long distances, these are probably abstracted as part of Support and Motorized ...

RE: Transit Zone Distance to Off-Map Base

<t> I think I just answered my own question.<br/>
<br/>
1) Form a task force (in Pearl for this example)<br/>
2) Set a valid off-map objective (Balboa)<br/>
3) Read the # of hexes from the TF info screen<br/>
e.g. Moves(m/c) 3/2, Fuel-500/214(107)<br/>
So 107 hexes from Pearl to Balboa<br/>
4 ...

Transit Zone Distance to Off-Map Base

<t> For TF movement between on-map and off-map, I've never figured out how to calculate the distance between the transit zone hex and the off-map base. For instance, if I decided to move a TF from Pearl Harbor to the East Coast via the Panama Canal, I can measure the distance from Pearl to the ...

Auto-assign TF Commanders?

<t> I have always auto-assigned TF commanders for even 1-ship TF's. Example: a local minesweeping TF may have 1 vessel with an Ensign as skipper and another Ensign as TF Commander. Example 2: a TF with a single xAKL transferring from one rear port to another gets a TF Commander in addition to the ...
