RE: Kneeling - next to bad guy - 95% to hit - and I missed?

The chance of that happening is 5*5*5%. Or just over 1%. Its NOT impossible by any stretch of the word..

If S2 works, then UFO:ET should run fine as well.

RE: Digital DL. Same patch?

The matrix DL is just a straight installer, no extra crap, so I'd presume it'd be the same patch.

The batch file you need to run is included in the same zip you got xbig.exe from.

Hey cool, this forum has an ignore feature.

Ravin, for future reference I'll pay more attention to use if you make more sense and don't end everything in "lol". It isn't puntuation.

RE: New review from Gamespot

<t> ravinhood...have you ever PLAYED the game? The tactical section works exactly like X-Com, the only difference being downed soldiers are AUTOMATICALLY picked up and taken back to base after a mission. There is no micromanaing of that. Hell, there's less than X-Com since you don't have to replace ...

RE: Victory conditions

The score is in the rating after each mission. If you ignore a site, you get no credit.

That's for LOSS conditions really, though. There's only one way to win the game, involving a specific mission (you'll know it when you see it)

I know how that goes. I have this poor W@#% who keeps getting hit in the head every mission. The funny thing is, despite that he's never been in the hospital for more than a day or two..

The aliens CAN pick out the most dangerous soldier. It isn't always your highest ranked guy, either; I've had them pick off the poor sap holding the Rocket Launcher while everyone else had rifles, as well..<br ...

By choppy, do you mean ALL the time or only when units are moving?

There's a problem where the follow camera will jerk around at times, but the only way I can seem to fix it is move the mouse to disable follow. It comes and goes, haven't been able to track it down.

Its not a bug, just a design decision that happens to match how X-Com handled it. You notice it more here because money is tighter.

<t> It makes the UFO: ET engine look like a fine-tuned beast. When I first got SS, it was COMPLETELY unplayable- the FPS was simply too low. (1700+ AMD, GeForce 4200, 512 RAM)<br/>

It also doesn't have any strategic aspects, so they would have had to do that from scratch anyway, along with ...

Until the squaddies have AI such that I can tell them what I want and they will follow it instead of doing the usual RTS braindead movements..I wouldn't call it more realistic.
