Your question is, of course, a matter of personal taste.<br/>

For me, GGWTBS is the best of the three. Very manageable once you learn the system, and still with many layers of complexity that work well together, and provides a large "fun factor" -- at least for me.<br ...

<r> <br/>
I also think there should be an option for intervention by the Kingdom of Siam. Didn't they offer Lincoln war elephants at one point? How about allowing a point of "cavalry" to be converted to elephantry? Or would that be packydermery? Or something....<br/>

RE: Intro not working

For me, the intro does not want to play the first time I try to run the game after installing. The second and subsequent times it runs fine. Not a significant issue, but a bit strange none the less.

Some better idea of where on earth battles are occurring would also be good. The small minimap in the center of the battle screen is not sufficient to really understand where in the 45 degree tilted world the AI controlled battle is happening. Playing as the western allies, most of the ...

I think I was doing some venting as well. I started this thread right after the 4th attempt crashed out on me. Just when I start getting into the game -- BAM! <br/>

At this point, I am starting to trip over the "Am I having fun yet?" problem. Playing feels more like testing an ...

Good to know I am not the only one suffering, and patch by patch, I am seeing improvement. Yes, I intend to hang in there, too, as I do see a game worth playing here. I really want to get to the good stuff -- game play and better yet, game mastery sorts of issues.<br/>

<r> Loborugger -- If you have 240 infantry and 120 militia -- I think you may need to pay more attention to training. Set up 4 itr rated officers in "training centers" like Baltimore and Saint Louis. Keep them chuck full of militia. Later, when McClellan is obsolete as a field commander, send him ...

RE: Lowest score and still win...

<t> <br/>
I think that depends on the ratio of infantry US vs. CS. If you have at least 3 to 2 -- yes, I think you can still win. If not, well than your low PP position has done its evil work. You will run out of steam and stall out. It IS possible to pick up a lot of points quickly. I know I've ...

RE: building factories..

<t> <br/>
For the North, I like getting up to 90 factories, and I like getting a good 10 or 12 underway almost immediately. The '61 campaign season is short and with very few regular units to rebuild, and low supply demands, the time will never be better to start investing. Also build every ...

I'd also vote for losing the guy who yells "Charge!" every combat round. That gets old in a hurry.

Even under the current/original game version, I was wondering why the Union could not construct Ironclads on the Mississippi. First, the Federals had river-bound ironclads as well as the unarmored gunboats in real-life. Second, the ...
