Actually had a successful Pearl Harbour

After playing this game for decades I finally had the japanese accomplish a pearl harbour attack.

Effective Pearl Harbour.png

Of course, on the other side of the world the only German surface fleet unit left is the Bismark. Every other SCS has gone to a watery grave for paltry losses to the CW ...

Re: To build or not to build...that is the question

I really like building the artillery units. As many as I can afford.

France - it allows you to pull off a ground strike that can totally disrupt the german offensive.

CW - Much harder to find the BPs for, but if you have it they can be useful when trying to re-take Gibraltar for instance and when ...

RE: Should the USA declare war?

Declaring war on Japan is absolutely a good move! It eliminates the Japanese surprise impulse which allows them to capture so much territory. The loss of that surprise impulse can be devastating to Japan. Especially if it means they have a hard time getting the NEI oil.

RE: Options for Japan

<t> As Japan build Land based air, especially get the zeroes with range 13. Those can react to the three box which is a big deal. If you want a good invasion you need to put your transports of amph in the 4 box. Having land based air makes a huge difference.<br/>

RE: How to play Italy?

<t> Fascinating how different our games are. I always end up with Italy as a beast! Germany gives them lots of resources and some BPs too. They build out their navs and the CW fleet gets butchered. (German condors and FW-190s help here too.) <br/>

No luck. I ran through the liberation sequence with 3.2 and the CW did not get to cooperate afterwards.

That's doable. Where's the best place to find the 3.2.0 executable?

RE: Liberating France, is this a bug or is it supposed to work this way?

I think I'll just wait for the update that fixes this bug. (Hopefully already being worked on if I'm not the only one reporting it.)

I'd rather not uninstall and reinstall.

I can play other games while I wait. Empires in Arms has some new updates to check out.

Well, I tried it and the CW liberated France, but there is still no Cooperation between the French and the CW.

I do have an earlier file. I'll get it, but there are definitely CW hexes in France and the game never asks for the CW to return them.

Changing Cooperation?

Has anyone figured out how to change if two major powers can cooperate? I've got a game I've been playing where the CW cannot cooperate with France after liberation due to a bug and I don't have a recent save to go back to. I'd love to be able to edit the game and keep playing.

RE: Liberating France, is this a bug or is it supposed to work this way?

Unfortunately no. I had multiple impulses after Paris and so every autosave was replaced. I have a save that goes back an entire turn, but that's not ideal.

<t> I just went back and reloaded at the conquest phase. Then when liberation comes the CW never gets a chance to return French territory the game immediately moves on to the liberation of Spain. I've sent a save game to MADExcept email account.<br/>

There were CW controlled hexes in France but the game never asked for the CW to return them.

Liberating France, is this a bug or is it supposed to work this way?

<t> So, I just liberated France. (It had been completely conquered by the Axis) Took Paris with a combined CW and US force. But didn't pay attention to who took the hex. The US took the hex. The Us liberated PAris. Now all the CW units are subject to foreign commitment rules and the planes I have in ...

RE: Where to invade Japan?

<t> Well I ended up invading near Fukouoka because that's where his fleet was based and I'm able to threaten the anchorage there. So far it's going well. THe Japanese have so many troops overseas parked on objective hexes he has little to defend the homeland. (Rabaul, Calcutta, Singapore, Manila ...

Where to invade Japan?

<r> So, for the first time in any game I've played there will be an invasion of Japan. Where are the best places to invade if you are going for conquest? And the corallary, where are the key places to defend?<br/>
