Re: pwzlink.dat file - Panama canal transit time

No biggie LST, version control is a real son-of-a-bitch. Can't tell you how many times in various settings IRL this has reached up to bite people in the ass.
It is just SO easy to mix up files and saves and labels for said files. I think it's also why in crucial jobs those folks get paid a lot of ...

Re: New Public Beta - v1128 Live Now!

Thanks. I will change the DC facings to rear. I am also revising some of the CA and CL class tonnages to make them more consistent.

I haven't posted here in a while as I have been busy with other stuff, but I have also been working on the scenarios some more, cleaning them up. I will post updates ...

Re: New Public Beta - v1128 Live Now!

My theory is, yes it does play a part but unless someone with access to the code comes back and says 'yes', after all that's all we need, we can only guess.

The only sobering part is Michael said back when they started this tidy up that he could not find his sizeable yellow pad of dev notes he ...

Re: Ship ASW capability

I have read in a number of Pacific War books that part of the issue from a Japanese point-of-view was that ASW was deemed a low prestige part of the IJN due to their Bushido heritage, etc.
So, in a natural way, officers of promise went to the fleet in the air or surface arm and ASW lacked a cadre of ...

Re: Device range for aircraft weapons

Much appreciated fellas.
Pop passed just before Christmas back in 2012. He had been dealing with Parkinsons for a few years and steadily declined. I imagine a large part of it was all the "stuff" his generation was exposed to before it was known to be detrimental to your health. I also remember ...

Re: Device range for aircraft weapons

The convergence distance is where the weapons are lined up so their bullets/shells meet, hopefully at a target. Closer than that, the target gets hit but not in a concentrated pattern and farther than that, fewer bullets/shells will meet the target.

Exactly, and convergence was dictated by ...

Re: New Public Beta - v1128 Live Now!

Things have gone kind of quiet on the new release front, it's almost like there's a new game release that has sucked all the oxygen out of development ;)

Obviously no one understood the dry humour in the previous post, so I will try and ask more directly.

Is there any kind of update as to a ...

Hi Neil, welcome to the forum. As btd64 (coordinator) above you there would say, "Soon".
What that translates to is anyone's guess. It has been in a "when it's done, it's done" state for a long time now. Last big news we heard was Matrix has it and is ...

Re: New Public Beta - v1128 Live Now!

Most of the issues people have are easy to correct with Scenario Editor.

Important is to get code sorted out and correct. Rest can be left for modders.

Individual ships and units can be easily corrected afterwards. It's historical game, not perfection of history.

Quite right Sardaukar. Also ...

My father served in the USN beginning in Nov '41 with basic at Farragut, ID. Later as AO2 or Aviation Ordnanceman 2nd Class he taught gunnery school at Pensacola, FL before joining the fleet on Bon Homme Richard and lastly Randolph.
Assigned to Fighter/Bomber Squadron 16 (VBF-16) with SB2C ...

At the risk of irritating the vets here panzer51, I will pull out my well-worn nugget of WITP:AE wisdom:
Try your damnedest to "Embrace the Suck".
In other words, the game will not let you micromanage outcomes, so it tends to piss off folks new to the sim who come from other games where that is more ...

Re: Question for Allied Players

Against the AI opponent, with enough learning through Kull's Allied Spreadsheet you discover just how bare the US cupboard in the Pacific really was. Particularly escorts and ASW capable ships. So back to the topic at hand: I think this weakness along with a few others to husband where you can and ...

Re: OT: What music you listen when playing?

I guess I am a traditionalist- I play the default soundtrack, minus a couple that I don't care for, then replace those with theme-appropriate music. One I can think of immediately is Song of the High Seas from Victory at Sea.

What you mean with pre-war OOB? pre 18th of July?
Mostly just that the SCW was a test bed for new tools of war, i.e., the Bf-109, along with concepts prior to WW2.

There is some flexibility with platforms. I order on my PC from Amazon, but have it set up to be accessible from my iPad Pro.
It is called the Kindle store but there are options.
