RE: Board games not dead

Just returned from Winter Offensive, an MMP primarily Advanced Squad Leader tournament. There were over 150 gamers there. Boardgames are definitely not dead.

In days to repair X, Peirside X, Repair ship X. They won't go Ready. I guess I will have to wait until I get an ARD ...

RE: OT - Cars

My first was a 1967 GTO, in 1967, not new. A poor department store clerk had it first, but when the payment book arrived had to give it back to the bank. I just off active duty on DD 699 the Waldron. got it $2,700. It Lasted until 12/07/69 when it was crushed by a railroad car in Enola yard.

I wish my father was alive to see this. He was in the Coast Artillery, in Panama, in the 1930s. I bet this would bring back memories.

RE: Minor question about Battlecruisers

All three BCs destroyed at Jutland were destroyed by turret hits. They had insane suicidal ammunition handling practices. Beatties ship also had a turret hit that penetrated and destroyed the turret, but because sane ammo practices, the ship was saved.

I did something like this with the Valiant. I put it in Colombo, it took 4 or 5 days/point. Luckily it was about 50 days before the actual withdraw date.

RE: What command line switches for the EXE do you guys use and why?

would someone help a 70 year old on how to get to the command line switches to change them. Someone was kind enough to do it a couple of years ago, but between hard drive crashes and new computers I've lost it.

RE: OT: The Best Year of Your Life?

The best year of my life is the year I am in. It has always been that way. There has been a lot of twists and turns, choices, events some good some bad. All you can do is muddle thru, never give up, hope for the best.
