Re: Operational Art Of War IV

But why would an advancing army destory the very rails that they will need to receive supply and reinforcements? Let's leave Russia out of this since that is a special case. I would think the retreating army would do the destruction for example with the piece of equipment you have mentioned.

Sicily '43

I am playing the Sicily '43 scenario and have encountered an unusual situation. Hex 63,31 contains one german unit and hex 65, 31 contains two german units. I have surrounded these units, but I cannot attack them with the surrounding units. I also cannot get the attack planner to appear when trying ...

Kampfgruppe was one of my first computer wargames. Got it as a Christmas gift to myself. Played it on an Apple IIc. Oh the memories.

American Civil War

I am looking for suggestions for a game about the American Civil War and/or Gettysburg in particular. I just returned from Gettysburg and have been bitten by the bug. While I understand that diplomacy, research, and production are important aspects of any real life conflict, these areas do not ...

Re: What do you do?

I've been retired for a few years now, but my gaming has been sporadic. I began many years ago with little green army men. We would construct "fortifications" out of twigs and grass and then "bomb" them with stones. I also remember playing army in the neighborhood. We would go throughout the ...

Production

Does this game include a production element? That is do you have to determine how much oil and steel to manufacture? Do you have to pick what types of units will be produced? While I understand that such matters are a key element of fighting a war, it is just too much micro management for me. I ...

Re: New Forum Tips and Issues

With the old forum I rarely logged in. Nonetheless when I looked at a topic it would then show that I had read it. Now I have to login, click on the topic and then go back and refresh my screen for the topic to be shown as read. I am sure there is a reason for the change, but the old way was much ...

Re: New Forum Tips and Issues

I am confused by the "unread post" blue bubble. After I have viewed all posts in a topic the bubble color does not change and it appears that there are "unread posts". Also, I see a red file folder looking icon before posts saying unread, even after I have read the post. Am I doing something wrong ...

Thank you for the changes. However, the topics in various sections of the forum, such as NEW RELEASES FROM MATRIX GAMES, should be in alphabetical order like the "old" forum. Scrolling through the whole list to find what I am looking for makes the forum less user friendly.

Just saw a video on Youtube by Mark Felton that mentions this tank. Apparently, it was built by the British after WWII out of left over parts for study.

<t> I cannot swear to this, but I think I changed my password by hitting the "forgot password" link and after they sent me a temporary password, I was able to reset it to one of my choice. Its been a while since I did this so I could be dreaming or confusing this with another site.<br/>

RE: Road to Moscow

<t> Thank you gentlemen for your responses. It seems to me that I will allow the penalties generated by the game system to control my use of units. I think that unless a scenario is specifically designed to use "red, yellow, green", using it throws the game off. I may give D-Day to the Ruhr a look ...

Road to Moscow

<t> I have played the Road to Moscow, Crossing the Border scenario successfully several times using different strategies. I decided to give it a go using a modified red, yellow, green rule. RE: Road to Moscow - Guderian

The key is to monitor when units become available so that you can get them into the fight asap.

For the first couple of turns I thought this one would be impossible, but over time the situation improved.
