Game over.

I've been halted with 10+ million casualties at the end of 1943 and just don't have the desire to continue with this.

Thanks to everyone who invested time reading and commenting in the AAR.

Re: Maintaining Offensive Momentum

This can be tested by going to VtB scenario and removing the shooting capability from the Rockets.
Then do the same Attack with max 3 Divisions (3x9=27 → no reduced shooting) and note down DAM/DIS/DES figures (remove the retreat losses), then do the same attack but add the 3x "dummy"-Rocket ...

Re: Maintaining Offensive Momentum

This has me wondering about an item in the manual, from 23.8.1.

The force value of the attacking side is
calculated using the following values for each non-support,
non-artillery division unit attacking:
§§ Corps 15
§§ Division 9
§§ Brigade 5 (3 if the brigade has less than 2,000 men)
§§ Regiment ...

I just assign them to a spare corps HQ and position the HQ in such a way that only hexes that I want repaired are in the 5-hex range. Works 99% of the time.

Re: TB Calculator

Never send assault engineers to TBs. The 24 that you are allowed are far too valuable in reducing fort values to be anywhere other than on the map.

I have seen Rate of Climb mentioned as a factor that affects air-to-air combat, though to what extent your guess is as good as mine.

Here is some sample data related to Rate of Climb. And yes, you're reading it right, the I-16 Rata has a faster RoC than an Fw190A-5.

One of the things in the manual makes reference to aircraft information contained in the editor. A typical depiction of the information available, from the old editor version that I prefer, looks like this for MiG-3.

Kuznetsov was replaced by this fellow.

He was arrested within 4 months of taking command. Later sentenced to 5 years imprisonment, but was released the following year.

Commander of Northwestern Front at the start of Barbarossa.

Lasted less than two weeks before he was relieved.

Thoughts?

They actually have a higher CV than say a Soviet '43 heavy mortar regiment by a significant margin, so I like the idea of sending rocket artillery regiments to the TBs in exchange ...
