Re: Grand Campaign --- Q-Ball vs Sertorius21

I am waiting on Sertorious21 to give his permission for me to have access to the save so I can better discern what the Red Army looks like by the end of 1943.

Would that tankette be named Fat Man or Little Boy?

Do '43 Cannon Arty Divisions promote to guards?

Per subject line, do they?

The update of 1.04.03 provides an explanation of conditions in the living manual, but still fuzzy in this case.

A division with 20+ wins in 1944 would seem to be eligible, yet it isn't going to guards in a test game. Everyone else seems to.

Edit:

Yes they do

Re: Grand Campaign --- Q-Ball vs Sertorius21

The game closed as no turn was played for about two months. If one of the administrators could allow the map and the various reports to be consulted, it would be easy to post pictures of these, even if no further turn is played.

If this game has been abandoned, can the devs get me access to the ...

Hex 1 is not a town, and Hex 2 is. Maybe look at that, even if there is no logic to it.

You aren't alone. The Q-Ball/Sertorious21 game doesn't seem to be going anywhere either. It isn't uncommon for Summer to de-rail a lot of gamers.

That ain't Kozlov, who sure as hell wasn't a three-time awardee of Hero of the Soviet Union, nor a member of the VVS as indicated by the shoulder epaulets. Looks like that's a pic of Alexsandr Pokryshkin.

PaK 40 75mm ATG HE round

Would someone advise on what type of HE round this gun used, and how effective it was against soft targets.

Re: Official Update - v1.04.12

Two Rifle Corps in 1941, the option to build the full 1942 budget from the first week in January is something I will have to look into as that may be too many early on. Those should be two steps in 1942. 1943/44 limits are too high as well and splitting them may be required too.

To build 41 ...

Re: Quick Questions Thread

Still there. An interesting option is to just ignore the guards division builds entirely and max out the airborne divisions towards the end of 1942. Then convert the airborne brigades to airborne divisions and you get close to 30 airborne divisions that themselves not too bad.

Re: Grand Campaign --- Q-Ball vs Sertorius21

Quite a while ago, this Axis player on YouTube, Strategy Gaming Dojo, would livestream his campaign game. Those of us online cringed as he merged panzer divisions. So yeah, don't do that. The Soviets can get away with some of that. You can't.

Re: Wunderwaffles: Quality is a Quality on its own!

TBH, I did this more times than I can say against jubjub in our game. But it begs the question, did you really win when it cost you 7-8 times the casualties? It just isn't the losses shown, but has yet to include those that are subsequently written off in death or long time injury recovery from the ...

Re: Let us reform the Red Army of Workers and Peasants! (Advice needed)

Thanks Q-Ball, M60 and Wiedrock.

The Axis 1942 offensive took out about 1 Army of my forces. The front line runs roughly from Leningrad to Taganrog with a Eastward bulge South of Tula. I hold kerch.

Most of this line appears rock solid with Axis defensive CV typically > 30. I am not quite ...

Re: Let us reform the Red Army of Workers and Peasants! (Advice needed)

Always keep in mind that mech and motor brigades are very vehicle intense. When you are gradually committing an increased number of vehicles to cope with increased artillery ammo needs, independent mech and motor brigades start to move to the luxury category, that is to say, you really can't afford ...

Asking this for purposes of the Guards Cap.......

Is a MECH unit considered, for purposes of the Cap, an ARMOR unit or MOTORIZED unit?

AFAIK, it's neither. Mech is its own formation type, so it has its own guards cap. Because of this, just from a numbers standpoint it's easier to create more ...
