RE: FAILED(commit_last_unit_moved)

Yeah after downloading the latest update on steam this looks to have fixed it as I tried the autosave again and the crash didn't happen.

RE: Axis rail units

<t> I have some static division holding the line in Italy. my plan was to cover them with my mobile units and rail them back to my 2nd fortified line but I was horrified to find that several rail lines are destroyed so I cant rail them out. [:(]<br/>

Italy surrendered several turns ago so I ...

<t> 93 views and no response suggests i'm missing something obvious. [:)]<br/>

I don't see any listed with the construction filter in the commanders report. Shouldn't I have some railroad units to repair important rail tracks as relying on the auto ones to repair rail isn't working.<br ...

Axis rail units

How come the axis don't get any rail construction units to fix damaged rail lines?

Thanks for the response! [:)]

RE: Couple of axis question

<t> Not really because im looking at a german airbase now which is in the same hex as a well stocked depot which shows 'no trucks 70' on the supply screen. If the rule states no trucks are used within 3 hexes then why the no trucks message with this airbase?<br/>
<br/>
It's not a major issue, I ...

RE: Couple of axis question

<t> Great info there guys. I've read a few books on the eastern front so I know all about the chronic shortage in trucks the germans had.<br/>

RE: Couple of axis question

That is indeed the case, active manpower reads 11149 and special reads 44625. What's the difference with normal manpower and special?

Also, what about my truck question?

RE: Couple of axis question

<t> When you say I'm out of manpower even at this early stage, the production screen says otherwise unless I'm missing something.<br/>
<br/>
German manpower in pool reads = 98948<br/>
<br/>
And under manpower special for Germany it reads = 163000<br/>

Couple of axis question

<t> Both these questions relate to supply<br/>
<br/>
1. no manpower<br/>
<br/>
I'm seeing this issue even after a handful of turns. For example I've got a couple of infantry divisions on refit in berlin which are at 50% strength yet the supply screen for these divisions reads no manpower = 100 ...

RE: Viewing eastern front leaders

Seems like this is very harsh on the axis as they have barely enough admin points as it is never mind having enough to appoint new leaders.

I'm curious to know what cheats were going to merit this rule change.

Disbanding depots

<t> I understand the need to disband depots before the advancing allies but i'm not sure when exactly to do it.<br/>

This not possible then?

Does no one else ever bring back hqs from the eastern front? I think it would be very helpful to know the best leaders to return.

As Axis you'll see some high truck usage on eastern depots as they have to supply the eastern front. Disbanding them will just see truck usage shift to western depots.

Are depots required to keep the production system ticking over?

<t> My general rule of thumb regarding depots is to keep depots in major ports, near the front line and also near active airbases to keep supply ticking over and disband the rest to save on truck use.<br/>

hq question

Lets say I have a corp hq on Corsica attached to a army hq on mainland Italy although still within 15 hexes.

Are there any downsides to this due to the hqs being on different land masses?

What's the generally accepted best difficulty settings for a challenging game versus the AI?

I assume the allied AI would need more help than axis?
