Re: Boac (base id 651)

BTW, Boac being on Luzon changes Allies' tactical situation there a bit. Whenever you have a small ship (xAKL, AVD, sub) with supplies bound for Luzon, you can actually unload it in Boac and the supplies will automatically migrate to Manila/Clark Field/Bataan from there. No need to unload in Manila ...

BTW, whoever was responsible for the original Tracker base-region definitions didn't include Boac in Luzon region.

Re: Boac (base id 651)

Well, I have noticed I can give any LCU on Luzon an order to move to Boac and the unit will go there. It seems Boac is "physically" on Luzon land mass in the game.

Also, any TF set to patrol Boac set and having Boac as its home port, will be fuelled up, since fuel will move automatically to Boac ...

Boac (base id 651)

All these years I have thought Boac was an island next to Luzon. Its US base flag hovers in the middle of the hex where the small island is, yet Boac is actually a port on Luzon.

- Island next to Soerabaja - Again, the troops refuse to get on the planes from Soerabaja from like 2 hexes away.

The base is Pamekasan. The Dutch unit there is yellow-restricted (R), which means it first has to be bought out with PPs and attached to an unrestricted HQ. Cheapest option is to ...

Re: Old Gamer New to WITP AE - Questions

When you start a campaign, you can move supplies from Manila to Bataan my manpulating the supply spinners on Bataan's base screen.
I mostly try to have 20k supplies in both Bataan and Manila. Just up your "Supplies Required" at Bataan to 8000 supplies, and the base will try to gather x 3 more ...

Re: Old Gamer New to WITP AE - Questions

Sorry, tired eyes. Missed the bit about your ships going FROM Manila to Bataan.

Manila-Bataan route is so reconned by Japanese air units, that you probably would have more luck moving supplies by subs or AVDs with DDs escorts in Fast Transports missions approaching from the south of Bataan, from a ...

Re: Old Gamer New to WITP AE - Questions

Remember, Luzon is an island and its interior is connected by road and rail. Thus, if you have small cargo TF with supplies you can unloada them in other Luzon ports like Lucena and Batangas. The code will distribute supplies automatically once you dump them on Luzon.

Since Japanese AI likes ...

Ship off-map movement

You can hover with the mouse pointer over TFs placed in the off-map arrival boxes. It will give you the on-map ETA. Then you just add on-map hexes distance divided by TF speed and you get a pretty close estimate.

Air raids and LCU fatigue/disruption

In some air raids, an LCU suffers no destroyed/damaged devices, however it registers added fatigue/added disruption.

Is the added fatigue/disruption due to non-penetrating bomb hits that happen off-combat record or a simple a function of an air raid (unit disperses/ suffers combat fatigue). Does ...

Bomb hits and aircraft damage

I know the following result may be interpreted as five hits on a single Buffalo fighter, but do bigger bombs like 250kg bombs, which have more Effectivness, can damage several aircraft at once provided aircraft have low durability?

Cavalry units and pursuit

I know cavalry units are few, use infantry movement speed and their cavalry devices are bulkier (higher load cost) due to horses.

However, do cavalry units have some under-the-hood bonus when set on Pursuit orders after a successful battle? I have never tested it but it sounds plausible.

Just a ...

Re: Air coordination and same HQ

China Expeditionary HQ is a command HQ.

I subordinated both Ida units to this command HQ and afterwards they flew together as one raid.

So in absence of an air HQ, you can subordinate air groups to a command HQ. In this example the China Expeditionary HQ sits in Nanking (17 hexes away). In Canton ...

Thus same model of aircraft, same cruise speed

Exp pilot average: 65
Skill gnd attack average: 65

We had no mentors, we suffered under Alfreds and Bullwinkles here.

I would stay away from the mods right now, other than maybe selecting a different map art if the stock map isn't to your liking.

Start with the Coral Sea scenario and later familirise yourself with the grand campaign map's ...

Re: Assigning HQ’s

I dont't think there is a penalty in the code for assigning as many LCUs to one HQ as you want. Heck, I guess you could subordinate all available LCUs to one HQ and it wouldn't matter one bit.

With air groups it is different, since you want fighters/bombers being assigned to the same air HQ for ...
