Paratroop drop procedure Help please

<t> Frustrated and confused here (not far from my normal state). What is the correct procedure for air dropping paratroop units behind enemy lines? Game thinks I am trying to drop air supply, which of course it doesn't allow in enemy controlled hexes. <br/>

BTW I am still (for reasons ...

RE: WitW: Bomber Command and Nachtjagers?

I guess though that even though there is no production control, production will be effected by the strategic bombing campaign? In theory Germans could get more production than historical if they managed to somehow better defend against the bombers?

I believe that's an index of the population. Although it doesn't seem to change that I've noticed after the population flees.

I'm running the game just fine on a 3-4 year old Dell Latitude E6410 w/ 2.53Ghz and 4GB Ram with an (upgraded at the time) NVIDIA video card w 512MB memory.

RE: Limited Soviet pre-scenario turn

<t> A limited free set up (using the editor) is the best way to put an end to these pre-programmed super openings. The guys who came up with these deserve to be praised for their brilliance and hours of work in perfecting their plans, but they do tend to ruin the game once they become widely used. A ...

RE: OT: A burning question..

<t> Speaking of over-reaching, I've always wondered "what if" the Germans had forseen the easy conquest of France (which if I recall somewhat surprised them) and had planned Sealion in advance as a single unified operation with the invasion of France. Build and mobolize sufficient barges in advance ...

RE: German Flamm Pz Bn question

<t> I can confirm that. I asked this same question a few months ago and no one seemed to know the answer. I was able to determine by experimentation that they do NOT count as engineers. Like you I really feel that they should. Assaulting buildings and fortifications is what flameflower tanks are for ...

RE: Axis HQ SU method

Alternatively, if you are not playing against another humanbeing (or your opponent agrees) you can simply go into the editor and redistribute all the SUs as you like before the game starts then lock them. This is rather tedious, but you only have to do it once and then save it.

<t> Parrots live a very long time you know. I remember a few years ago their was a story going around the internet about someone who had (supposedly) bought or been willed Churchill's parrot. The Parrot's favorite phrase was "Fuck Hitler!" . [:D] Don't know if it's true, but it's a great story never ...

RE: Are you serious???

<t> I think you guys are overestimating the sophistication needed by the AI to perform a reaction move.<br/>
<br/>
I liken this to a cavalry reaction charge in a Napolenic wargame, a feature that has been available in some Napolenic games for approximately 300 years [:D]. OK so I exagerate ...

That is annoying isn't it?

I think you will find either on the player preferences screen or game options screen that are accessable from the admin tab.

Good luck!

That's the problem with the south in the early game, as the Soviets were attacking German armor almost immediately after they crossed the border. This can't be modeled in an IGOUGO system unless a new option (Strategic ...

RE: Random Weather

<t> +1<br/>
<br/>
In a perfect world the weather table ought to be user definable in the editor rather than hard coed (EDIT: that's hard coded, nice Freudian slip[:D]) and there should also be intermediate forms of weather. added. I also like the idea of more weather zones.<br/>

RE: Two suggestions (turn 1 and isolated units)

<t> Wouldn't the simple solution to the 3 day first turn issue simply be to make all turns including the first turn 7 days and forget about trying to conform to the calendar?<br/>

RE: Two suggestions (turn 1 and isolated units)

<t> If there was a logistical problem in the south then maybe a cleaner more accurate fix would be to give AGS units somewhat less than full supply on turn 1. A fuel shortage would have the effect of taking away movement points as Tarhunnas has suggested, but this gives it a rationale rather than ...

RE: Two suggestions (turn 1 and isolated units)

That's an interesting idea. However, I have to say that it is certainly not too hard to form the standard (not the extended one) pocket without borrowing units from PzGrp 2.

RE: Two suggestions (turn 1 and isolated units)

<r> <QUOTE><s>[quote]</s>The first turn movement rules for the Germans were set up to allow the Germans to do what they did historically. In the north and center they do this (plus or minus a hex or so). Cutting to 50% would put them way behind schedule. In the south, the issue has always been the ...

RE: Game Suggestions: Weather

<t> Here's an idea in case you haven't followed my random or nonrandom weather poll. <br/>

Quite a few people have advanced the idea of having some intermediate forms of weather, so for instance, when you have a random mud turn in the middle of the summer it wouldn't bring operations to a ...
