Re: Nazi Germany's Biggest Mistakes That Lost WWII

I think that what if’s are fun, but this is a challenging what if. I think the best chance for Germany would’ve been if one or both sides made peace in 1941. Possibly no invasion of France, which most likely (I haven’t confirmed if this is a myth or not) stretched supply lines further than ...

Re: Eastern Front 1941-1945 V8.1 for TOAWIV 12/2023

Tried PO vs PO . . . I assume PO is either a work in progress for the Soviets, or I got really lucky, or there's some kind of issue with the scenario. If it is unfixable, then sure, but Soviets got wrecked.

The PO is normally designed (or should I say intended) to offer the player a ...

Re: Eastern Front 1941-1945 V8.1 for TOAWIV 12/2023

Tried PO vs PO, and Germans are winning handedly in 1944. About to recapture Leningrad (captured both it and stalingrad in 1941 and 1942). I assume PO is either a work in progress for the Soviets, or I got really lucky, or there's some kind of issue with the scenario. If it is unfixable, then sure ...

Re: Trying to understand inner logic of battles...

General notes.

Morale, which is the amount of % of your pie charts, readiness, proficiency, and supply, determines how many troops take part in battle. Your proficiency is automatically at .35

Those are platoon/section sized troops, I'm assuming they are accurate to their name. 50% chance to hit ...

Re: Nazi Germany's Biggest Mistakes That Lost WWII

Biggest mistake, in my opinion, is challenging the two powers that can output twice your entire spending’s worth of equipment. The disparity of economic size between the Soviets and Germany was massive, even if the Soviets started out backwards. The only way they could win is by crippling their ...

1st Colonial War (Fictional Scenario) (Playable - WIP)

Hey, made a fictional scenario. Interested in play-testers/feedback. I play tested it a ton, but it's still work in progress.
Why did I make this scenario? Because historical scenarios take too much research. The scenario is late 18th century/early 19th century inspired, but before the rail boom ...

Civil War Scenario 1861-1865/6 WIP requesting help!

It's a corps/army level grand strategy level game, with some smaller units, ((specifically before 1st Bull Run)). I have most of the OOBs done in the East. There's a lot of turns in this one. I wanted to give an accurate portrayal of campaigning in the Civil War, and I decided 3 days is accurate for ...

Re: How can I delete an equipment from a unit OOB?

Noob question here, but I'm fixing some scenarios involving the Italians according to Italian sources.

I started with the Greece campaign 1940, as there is (obviously) a lot of material on the OOBs, deployments, proficiency and what not. For example, NO Italian formation had tanks: the 170 ...

Working on another smallish fictional scenario plus test battle player request set up in the other forum. If you want to playtest the scenario with me, then uh yeah go to request an opponent.

Scenario Test: Trench Warfare v1

Yeah, so I've never really played multiplayer before. Also this is my first "finished" scenario. I'm hoping to test the scenario with someone. It's pretty simple, get to the corner, and you win, death match style. I don't know if you will get to the corner though, because I modded the scenario to ...

Re: Air Force PO Question

I tried out the Air manager when designing my scenario, and yeah I don't recommend using it. I'm not an expert with air force stuff, but I don't think it's that good. There are guaranteed problems with scripted AIs, but the air manager is just terrible. The actual AI does better with it for some ...

Re: Defenders lose automatically most of their hexes to the attackers (HELP)

Alright so guerilla is random tile change. The number is the chance. 100% means there every tile that can change will be changing every turn. I'd either set the percent to like 1 or get rid of the event.

It'd be fun to have a scenario where you had to have troops actually holding line of supplies ...

Re: I am Making ASOIF map

A few things to note when doing an AGOT scenario.

1. You're gonna want to make custom unit types. You don't have to, but IDK, armies running around with muskets in an AGOT scenario is kind of whack.
1a. I recommend learning how attack power and defense works. Short way of explaining it, defense ...

Re: Trench Warfare Scenario **NEEDS MP TESTERS**

I'm working on a ton of other scenarios too, this post is just a quick post intended to get the news that I'm developing out there.

Monster Scenarios:

1. US Civil War 1861-1865: OOB is done for both sides, more or less. I'm doing a lot of estimation on the numbers and allocations of troops. Bull ...

Trench Warfare Scenario **NEEDS MP TESTERS**

I'm making a couple very experimental scenarios in TOAW IV. This is one of the more entertaining ones that is pretty much done ATM.

The idea is trench warfare. Size is 20 x 20, Scale is 20km, 1 day per turn. I have no idea when to set the end date, so I set it for January 1st, but realistically ...

Re: Javelin vs. T-72

Very good! I am not at all into number crunching so your analysis is very much appreciated. The 'all 20 of them firing' part is one thing that always concerns me about TOAW calculations. It makes me consider this question: Will all systems in a Unit fire in a combat? In some cases this may not ...

Re: Javelin vs. T-72

So the way combat calculations work is that you have AT power and Armor defense. If AT power > Armor Defense, the guns always penetrate the armor if they hit. We can literally ignore armor pen checks. Thus, the question of whether the T72s will be killed or not only deals with two things. First, the ...
