RE: Updating WIF on new computer

Thanks! It's really amazing how many improvements there have been to the game! I've gotten used to many features and maybe a bit "spoiled" but want to get back to the updated version asap!

Updating WIF on new computer

<t> I have had to retire another PC and installed WIF from my original discs. Now I need to update before transferring my last game files to the new computer (currently on a thumb drive). I tried the "update" that is on the screen at the beginning of the game but it doesn't respond.<br/>
I also ...

City Based Volunteers?

I noticed a reference to City Based Volunteers being an optional rule available now. Is this correct? I'm hoping it is!

RE: Optional Rules

<t> The cool thing for me is that this game continues to be upgraded/expanded years after it first came out for PC. Recently I had to reinstall the game when my old HD went bad. I was STUNNED at how much was missing that I was used to enjoying in the game, because over the years it really has added ...

RE: France and Commonwealth declare war against Italy

<t> I really appreciate this thread! In many solo games I have had the Allies wait for Italy to declare war. While waiting, Italy built up a potent force in Libya having already placed all the "anywhere at start" units there! As a result, as long as they maintained supply into the East Mediterranean ...

RE: Germany getting It foreign units?

OK. It has continued through several production cycles and avoiding having units that can't stack with German units in those areas seems to solve the problem. But eliminating the problem would be better certainly, so thanks!

Germany getting It foreign units?

<t> This has never happened to me before, but in my latest solitaire Global War during the Production Phase I discovered Germany (and only Germany) has the option to build several units only Italy should be able to build, all of them in the "Horn of Africa" - Ethiopean, French Somalian & British ...

In that case had your tried saving the game and then reloading it? There were times when that fixed supply issues.

Thanks Paul. My current German convoys link the Persian Gulf to Eastern Med. The Italians conquered Greece and Yugo is aligned to Get. I assumed the convoy in Eastern Med connected to Athens and then by rail to Berlin. Is that not correct?

Any add-ons for purchase being considered?

<t> With all the great add-ons produced for WIF over the years, and especially now with the amazing new boxed set, is there any chance of a "for purchase" add-on to MWIF? I'd be especially interested in new units that appeared later in the war or were just on the drawing board that are in the newest ...

Tracing supply overseas question

The USSR invaded Persia to deny the Axis the additional oil and possibly moving into Iraq. During all this the Italians were able to get a ...

Good people on the Internet? Yep!

<t> Hope this is appropriate, but just want to give a shout out to "Brian Brian" for offering to send me some tea to help me with my cancer.
